Monday, June 8
*9:19 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office receive a report of theft from a resident on Brin Street in Brownwood. According to the report, the seat off of the complainant’s riding lawn mower had been stolen.
*9:42 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of theft that occurred in the 1400 block of Campa sometime the night before.
*9:57 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1300 block of Avenue J regarding a possible burglary. The complainant reported that a vehicle has been burglarized sometime between Sunday and Monday and many items were missing.
*10:07 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce (WalMart) regarding a shoplifter. Police report that a suspect allegedly stole more than $100 worth of property from the store. Police arrested 35-year-old Vanessa Marie Miller of Brownwood for theft of property.
*2:47 PM – Brownwood Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 1500 block of Brady Avenue.
*6:00 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Avenue E regarding a domestic disturbance. The complainant told police that she had been assaulted by her husband and injuries were apparent, according to the report. A police report was submitted for investigation.
*8:55 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of Main Street regarding a domestic disturbance. Suspects were identified.
*9:00 PM – Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1500 block of 11th Street for a traffic violation. During the stop, the driver was found to be in possession of three separate medications without a valid prescription, according to the report. Police arrested 37-year-old Hattie Tignor for three counts of possession of a dangerous drug.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of credit/debit card abuse.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy investigated a report of alleged cruelty to livestock animals. According to the report, several horses on a property on County Road 154 were said to be confined in “poor conditions.” The deputy located the horses and found them to be healthy and well fed; however, they were confined to a small and muddy living area, the report states.
*The Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a structure fire on County Road 121 to assist Brownwood Fire Marshal Buddy Preston with the investigation of a structure fire which appeared to be the result of arson and a burglary of the habitation. According to the report, a neighbor had reported the fire and advised that the owner had a gun safe inside the residence, which should be full of firearms and visible from the front door. The safe as well as the guns were found to be missing.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 50-year-old Gerard Amarante of Brownwood on a warrant related to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams. Amarante was released on $20,000 bond.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Robert Lee Howard Brookbank of Brownwood on a warrant related to a surety withdrawal for burglary of a habitation. Brookbank was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond as of Tuesday morning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Gary Dwon Brown of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance.
*Early Police arrested 29-year-old Tamara Dawn Hopkins of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Hannah Janae Poucher of Cisco for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Sean Christopher Riffey of Farmersville, Texas for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams.
Tuesday, June 9
*1:13 AM – Brownwood Police were called to a north Brownwood intersection regarding a suspicious vehicle. Police arrested 18-year-old Brody Plunkett of Brownwood for DWI as a result of the call.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Reynaldo Garcia-Flores of Jewet, Texas on a warrant related to kidnapping.
