Friday, May 31

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence at Circle P Heights regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her paycheck had been stolen out of her mailbox.

*11:56 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip regarding a strong smell of marijuana coming from a mobile  home in the Bluebonnet Mobile Home Park.  According to the report, two deputies knocked on the door of the home and when it was answered, no smell of marijuana could be noted.  The resident, identified as Nicholas Slatton, admitted to having smoked some marijuana earlier, the report states.  Slatton also later admitted having some marijuana left and retrieved the marijuana and a smoking pipe when it was requested, according to the report.  Slatton was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

Saturday, June 1

*12:39 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Hwy 183N regarding the theft of property.  According to the report, the landlord of the property stated that a previous tenant moved out of the home and took several items that did not belong to him.  The estimated value of the items taken is $3900, the report states.

Sunday, June 2

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of suspicious activity which was determined to be criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated hearing someone shooting what he believed was a pellet gun while he was at a building he owned near the Diamond P Enterprises’ cutting and spooling building.   He saw lights on the side of the Diamond P building go out, then saw an older white extended cab Chevrolet pickup with a loud or defective exhaust leave the area, the report states.  A check of the building showed that at least three of the 400 watt exterior light fixtures had been damaged, according to the report.  Repair of the lights is estimated at $150 each or a total of $450, states the report.

Monday, June 3

*1:29 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Melwood regarding the burglary of a vehicle.

*6:59 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of 1st Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, someone stole an air compressor from the back of the complainant’s pickup.

*10:41 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Avenue C regarding the theft of medication.  According to the report, approximately 54 pills of Oxycodone-Acetam were stolen.

*7:40 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, a store employee was seen by loss prevention employees clocking out and then stealing a toy from the store.  The employee was observed taking the toy, tearing off its tag and then walking past all points of sale, the report states.  Loss prevention employees confronted the employee about the theft in the grocery side vestibule and then detained him in their office until the responding officer arrived.  The employee stated that he had taken the toy and was planning to give it to his small child so that he could re-enter the store and finish shopping, according to the report.  Wal-Mart did not wish to pursue charges against the employee; however he was issued a citation for theft less than $50.

*Texas Rangers arrested 22-year-old Joseph Daniel Bates of Eden on a warrant related to burglary of a building.  Bates is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Marlena Gomez on a warrant for motion to revoke related to assaulting a public servant.

Tuesday, June 4

*12:12 AM – A Brownwood Police officer while on patrol in the area of Chestnut and Victoria Streets observed a pickup with approximately 3-4 males in the back of the pickup who appeared to be younger than 18 years-old.  A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle for violation of riding in truck beds offense.   During the stop, three of the males that were in the back of the pickup ran on foot, the report states.  This stop led to the arrest of 18-year-old Trequawin Edwards and 17-year-old Henry Rivas for evading arrest or detention, the report states.
