Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, June 30, 2011.

Friday, June 24

*10:59pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview regarding an incident of disorderly conduct.  The suspect was issued a criminal trespass warning at the request of the property manager.

Wednesday, June 29

*8:42pm-A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center regarding a theft.  According to the report, the complainant advised the officer that she had left her wallet at McDonald’s, 104 E. Commerce, and that it contained her personal identification as well as credit card and bank account information.

*10:08pm-Brownwood Police arrested 17-year-old Mario Lopez, Jr. for criminal mischief, more than $50 less than $500, after an altercation between Lopez and a 65-year-old male.  The incident started after the older male accidentally struck and killed Lopez’s unrestrained dog on the roadway in the 100 block of Greenleaf according to police reports.  Lopez was also arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Injury.

*10:55pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace regarding harassment.  The complainant reported that she had received approximately 20 text messages from a named female suspect.

Thursday, June 30

*2:11am-Brownwood Police were called to a convenience store in the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  A store employee reported to police that a male in his late 20s walked into the store and left with two 40oz beers without paying for the beverages.  The value of the stolen items was approximately $2.50 each.  The clerk stated that he didn’t recognize the suspect as a regular at the store, but that he was approximately 5’10” tall, 170 pounds, and was wearing white shoes, blue jeans and a blue hoodie at the time of the theft.  The suspect was last seen running behind the store.

*3:30am-Brownwood Police initiated a traffic stop for a defective headlight in the 1600 block of Austin Avenue.  The driver, 27-year-old Holly Gossett, was found to be intoxicated after failing standard field sobriety tests and had an open alcoholic container in the vehicle.  According to police, Gossett was driving back from a party in Early when she was pulled over by the officer.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
