Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, June 3, 2016
Wednesday, June 1
*11:35 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of theft via telephone call. According to the report, the complainant stated that she had moved out of a residence approximately two weeks ago and that her computer was missing. She informed her previous roommates of the incident and allowed them to return her computer; however, at the time of the report, the computer has not been returned and the complainant wished to pursue criminal charges.
*1:44 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Brady Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, a pellet gun was stolen from the back porch of the complainant’s residence.
Thursday, June 2
*12:54 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a building.
*2:10 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1800 block of Avenue I regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, an unknown suspect had broken into the complainant’s home and stole a wedding ring and then pawned it.
*2:49 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of theft by check from a business on W. Commerce. According to the report, checks written to the business in the amount of $10,000 had bounced. A suspect has been named and an investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*2:59 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Avenue B regarding a hit and run accident.
*3:15 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Austin Avenue regarding a scam.
*11:00 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, laundry products, food and several DVDs were stolen from the business. This call led to the arrest of Amber Canon and Jose Segovia for theft over $100 less than $750.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of animal cruelty at a residence in Early, Texas. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had tied up five of his goats between May 29th and May 31st and that one of them had died prior to being released by the owner.
*Early Police responded to Heartland Mall regarding a possible shoplifting call, due to a female acting suspicious. According to the report, the officer made contact with the female, and after checking her identification it was discovered that she had warrants from Erath County for theft by check greater than $20 less than $500. The female, identified as 26-year-old Jessica Allen of Early, was then arrested on the warrant and was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram after 2 baggies of methamphetamine were located inside her purse, the report states.
Friday, June 3
*3:31 AM – Brownwood Police attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of 1st Street and Avenue J. This call led to the arrest of the driver, Juan Alberto Tristan II for evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 59-year-old Kert Lee Vangorder of Del Valle, Texas for driving while intoxicated 2nd.
