Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday and Friday, June 2 & 3, 2011.
Wednesday, June 1
*10:43am-Brownwood Police responded to a report of an assault in the 2800 block of Southside Drive. A female complainant told police that she was assaulted by a known suspect. Officers are investigating.
*2:00pm-Brownwood Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 1600 block of Campa. The complainant told police that her estranged husband pushed her the day before at her residence. The male suspect was unable to be located for officers to speak to him about the incident.
*2:05pm-Brownwood Police responded to a call of theft at Wal-Mart. Employees told the officer that they saw a woman place items into her purse without paying for them and exit the store. The officer stopped and detained the suspect to talk with her about the incident. The suspect told the officer that she would not do it again. The officer recovered a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner.
*4:07pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 600 block of Avenue G regarding a theft. The complainant told police that a male subject, who she knew, stole two commemorative coins from her home. Suspect information was provided and police are investigating.
*6:23pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Vine Street where a complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend arrived at her residence and they began to argue. According to the report, the complainant stated that she believed that her ex-boyfriend had put something into her drink to make her pass out because she woke up at the hospital and did not remember how she arrived.
Thursday, June 2
*12:56am-Brownwood Police responded to the area of 5th Street and Brady Avenue where Christopher Ray Lankford was arrested for Public Intoxication. Lankford faces charges which have been filed against him for Assault Family Violence regarding an incident between him and his girlfriend.
*1:00am-Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies while on patrol noticed a small car parked on the side of CR 257. While investigating the car, they found a male, identified as 31-year-old Bradley Kyle Smith of Amarillo, in the bar ditch and very intoxicated, according to the report. Inside the car was a woman passed out, identified as 32-year-old Stephanie Blackburn who could not clearly remember the events of the evening and did not know where she was or how she got there. Both Smith and Blackburn were arrested for Public Intoxication.
*10:28am-A black wallet was turned into the Brownwood Police Department. The person turning in the wallet said that it was found on the side of the road off of 4th Street. The wallet was secured until contact with the owner can be made.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Amelia Denise Thompson of Brownwood for driving while license invalid.
*10:29pm-Brownwood Police were called to an apartment in the 1000 block of Cordell regarding a hit and run of a vehicle. The complainant told police that someone damaged her car while it was parked in the parking lot.
*10:35pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop when he saw a vehicle drive past with no lights on in the 500 block of E. Commerce. Further investigation led to the discovery of a metal smoking pipe believed to be used for smoking marijuana, according to the report. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
*11:08pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2100 block of Brady Avenue for a non-functional license plate lamp. The police report states that after a consensual search of the vehicle, the officer found a broken pill, later identified at Carisoprodol 350mg, and a glass pipe containing what was believed to be meth. 38-year-old Tracy Lynn Sutton of Brownwood was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
