Monday, June 27

*3:55pm-Brownwood Police issued a criminal trespass warning to an individual for a residence in the 3900 block of Austin Avenue at the homeowner’s request.

*4:24pm-A Brownwood Police officer met with a female regarding prescription medication disposal.  She brought in numerous bottles of prescription medication on behalf of a friend whose mother had recently passed away.

Tuesday, June 28

*6:35am-Brownwood Police responded to a business in the 1000 block of Austin Avenue (the Bike Peddler), regarding the burglary of a building.  According to the report, a friend of the owner had driven by, noticed the door open, and called police.  After clearing the building, the officer made contact with the owner who advised that four bicycles had been stolen.

*9:33am-Brownwood Police were called to Brownwood High School regarding suspicious activity at the BHS gym.  Several juveniles were seen attempting to throw property onto the roof of the gym. Officers were able to identify four male suspects during the investigation of the incident and several cell phones were recovered.  School coaches assisted in locating the owners of the recovered property, all of which had been stolen from inside the gym.  The value of these items exceeded $1000 and three of the juveniles were arrested on charges of Class A Theft.

*11:02am-Brownwood Police met with a reporting party regarding found property.  According to the report, the man reported that he recovered a bicycle from one of his foster children.  The bicycle was placed into the Brownwood Police Department impound until the owner can properly identify and claim it.

*12:39pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Greenleaf regarding the theft of a bicycle.

*4:25pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Avenue A regarding a stolen bicycle.  The complainant stated that his son’s bicycle had been stolen.  A neighbor was named as a suspect.  According to police reports, the suspect returned the bicycle later on the day of the theft.  An investigation is continuing.

*4:30pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 2400 block of Avenue D regarding a stolen bicycle.  The complainant stated that his son’s bicycle had been left outside between 5pm Sunday and Tuesday afternoon at 4pm.  A description and serial number were obtained and placed into the database as stolen property.

*5:07pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Avenue C regarding theft.  The complainant stated that approximately one month ago, unknown person(s) stole a lawn mower from under the carport of her residence.

*7:40pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Melwood regarding theft of a bicycle.  No serial number of identification number was available.

*10:14pm-A Brownwood Police officer was patrolling in the 1500 block of Magnolia when he noticed a vehicle that had a right front headlight out.  When the vehicle turned onto Elizabeth, the taillights were also noted as being nonfunctional, according to police reports. The vehicle was pulled over for the defective equipment and the driver, 40-year-old Tracy Lynn Harris Hoover, was found to be intoxicated, according to police.  Hoover was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or more.  During the investigation, Hoover was also found to have been involved in an accident in the 3300 block of 2nd Street and left the scene.

Wednesday, June 29

*1:41am-A Brownwood Police officer stopped a few pedestrians in the area of 3rd Street and Brady Avenue.  During the stop, one of the subjects was identified as a juvenile and found to be in possession of tobacco.  The juvenile was issued a citation for the offense and all three subjects were released from the scene.

*2:50am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Fisk Avenue where they received information that a subject had a bicycle stolen from him at Coggin Park.  The bicycle was located and a suspect identified in the theft.   The complainant did not wish to pursue charges.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
