While conducting an investigation, a Brown County Sheriff Deputy received information regarding a separate incident of reckless driving, which led to the arrest of a 36-year-old driver.

While speaking with a witness about the unrelated crime on Monday night, BCSO received information about the reckless driver incident, and the suspects were located a few blocks down from the deputy’s location.

As the interview with the witness continued, an engine “rev” was heard by the deputy and someone in the area stated they thought it was the same reckless driver from earlier.  According to the report, a pickup passed by at a high rate of speed and did not have its headlights on.  The deputy began to pursue the pickup as it approached US Hwy 377 and then followed it toward Brownwood.  The report states that the deputy turned on his lights and siren as he fell behind the suspect vehicle on Hwy 377, but the pickup continued to flee.  The deputy eventually caught up with the truck at the area of US 377 and County Road 326 where the driver pulled over.  The driver, identified as Daniel Lewis Aguirre of Brownwood, was found to be intoxicated, according to the report.  Aguirre was arrested for Evading Arrest and Reckless Driving then taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood test.  According to the report, at the ER, Aguirre became combative and was additionally charged with Interference with Public Duty for attempting to stop the execution of the blood search warrant.

The only other occupant at the time of Aguirre’s arrest was his dog, which was released to his Aguirre’s brother at residence in Blanket.
