Wednesday June 16
*Brownwood Police received a report of a man trying to sell an item over the Internet, who received a forged check as payment.
Friday June 18
*Around 10pm Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of Crothers in reference to a citizens’ dispute. According to the report, two women had been arguing, as the dispute escalated, one of the women attempted to call the police. The other woman slapped her cell phone out of her hand and a physical altercation ensued. No arrests were made at the time of the report.
Thursday June 24
*Approximately 6:30 pm, Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run accident in the 600 block of CC Woodson. Information was obtained on the suspect’s vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.
*Brownwood Police arrested 37-year-old Timothy Allen French for Public Intoxication after responding to reports of an assault according to the report.
*Around 8:45am, while in a convenience store in the 2800 block of US 377S, a Brownwood Police officer was given information about a beer theft by the manager. According to the report, someone stole several bottles of beer the day before. The incident was caught on surveillance video which was taken as evidence.
*Around 8am, Brownwood Police responded to a report of criminal mischief. A vehicle was vandalized and burglarized in the 2600 block of Avenue B.
*Brownwood Police responded to a report of theft in the 3300 block of 1st Street. According to the report, a pair of tennis shoes had been stolen. After investigating, three suspects have been identified. No arrests had been made.
*Shortly before 12pm, Brownwood Police were called to 2100 Slayden, Brownwood High School. After a meeting with officials of BHS, it was determined that a theft of a DVD player had occurred on Tuesday June 22. Video surveillance showed three students enter a room and one of them exited with a square object believed to be the DVD player. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
*Brownwood Police responded to call regarding an assault which involved an injury and family violence in the 1100 block of Durham.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
