Monday, June 18

*12:30pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant regarding the criminal trespass of a residence in the 1900 block of Southside Drive.  A suspect has been identified according to the report.

Tuesday, June 19

*7:39am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Greenway Drive regarding an abandoned bicycle.  According to the report, a silver bicycle with orange peddles and black and green handgrips was recovered which has a serial number which was distorted.

*12:40pm-A Brownwood Police office while on patrol was contacted by phone by administration of the Brownwood High School.  According to the report, the reporting party stated that two students at the campus were believed to be smoking marijuana during the summer session of school and were believed to possibly have marijuana in their possession. According to the officer’s report, one of the students, identified as 17-year-old Thomas Gabriel Cerda, was in possession of marijuana for which he was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail.

*2:44pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue, Brookshire’s, regarding theft.  According to the report, the store manager caught a male subject attempting to leave the store with a two pack of Energizer brand batteries without paying for the item.   The manager advised police that the store wished to pursue criminal charges and a criminal trespass warning was issued to the male subject at the manager’s request.

*5:01pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Victoria Street regarding theft of prescription medication.  According to the report, someone had stolen the complainant’s prescription medication sometime between 6:00pm and 7:00pm on June 17th while a family reunion was being held at the location.  The complainant did wish to pursue charges, the report states.

*5:20pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue C regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had damaged his front door while he was away from his home for the day between 2:35pm and 5:10pm.  Dispatch advised officers that the complainant had an active Brown County warrant for Failure to Appear/Assault Family Violence and the complainant was arrested for the warrant.  The investigation into the criminal mischief is ongoing.

*6:01pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of Southside Drive regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his wife had hit him in the face.  The complainant did not wish to pursue criminal charges, the report states.  The complainant’s wife stated that she had struck him in self defense when he “swung at her,” the report states.   Both the complainant and his wife were issued a notice to adult victims of family violence form and no arrests were made, the report states.

*8:21pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of 6th Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, 18-year-old Dustin Atkins was taking a lengthy shower and his aunt (whose home he lives in) needed to use the bathroom.  The report states that when the aunt entered the bathroom, a handgun was noticed on the vanity.  Because Atkins has been arrested and convicted for family violence, he is not allowed to have a handgun in his possession, according to police.  The aunt told her husband about the gun and when he confronted Atkins about it, the two became involved in a “pushing match,” according to police reports.  When police were called and given permission to search the residence and a loaded handgun was found between the mattress and box springs of the bed where Atkins sleeps, the report states.  The weapon was seized as evidence and Atkins was arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence.

*8:26pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of 1st Street regarding trespass.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her soon-to-be ex-husband had been at her residence despite an active trespass warning.  The suspect, 46-year-old Bonifacio Adame Arredondo, was located at his residence and did indicate that he was at the complainant’s residence where he has the warning.  Arredondo was arrested for Criminal Trespass.

*8:40pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at a residence on Vincent Street regarding the violation of an emergency protective order.    According to the report, the complainant stated that her son violated the protective order against him by contacting her through email.

* Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 56-year-old David Henry Bivins for Evading Arrest Detention, and for six outstanding Brown County warrants.

Wednesday, June 20

*12:04am-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding an assault.  According to the report, a physical altercation had taken place between the complainant and a known suspect who had left on foot.  Contact was made with the complainant at the scene and the suspect was discovered outside the apartment during investigation, the report states.  After investigation, the suspect, 20-year-old Derrick Rose, was placed under arrest for Assault with Injury Family Violence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 46-year-old Brad Lee Mayes for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
