Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, June 2, 2016
Wednesday, June 1
*12:55 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of South Broadway Street regarding theft. According to the report, clothing was stolen from a local business.
*3:23 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Austin Avenue regarding forgery/counterfeiting of a $50 bill. According to the report, a bank teller stated that a local business had dropped off their deposit which contained the counterfeit bill.
*7:47 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, two female suspects were identified and issued citations for theft of property less than $100.
*9:30 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop regarding defective equipment in the area of Austin Avenue and Slayden Street. According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of 53-year-old Kyle Couch of Comanche, Texas for driving while license invalid with previous convictions and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*11:19 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1400 block of Brady Avenue regarding a motor vehicle accident. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 43-year-old Benjamin Lehane of Brownwood was arrested for driving while intoxicated.*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault causing bodily injury. According to the report, the female victim stated that a known female had attacked her. The female suspect had left the scene before the deputy arrived, the report states.
*Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Dominick Reshade Eddington of Early on a warrant related to failure to maintain financial responsibility.
*Brownwood Police arrested 19-year-old Felipe Antonio Ortiz of Brownwood on a warrant related to an expired registration.
*Brownwood Police arrested 24-year-old Bryan Dee Penn II of Brownwood on a warrant related to speeding in a school zone 29 mph in a 20 mph zone.
Thursday, June 2
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Samuel Lee Burgin of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2A equal or less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old Christine Hale of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to appear/two counts of possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. Hale was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $45,000 bond as of Thursday morning.
*Brownwood Police arrested 18-year-old Joe Willie Zapata III of Brownwood on a warrant related to motion to revoke/motion to adjudicate/unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
