Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday June 15, 2011.
Thursday, June 9
*9:05am-Brownwood Police were called to investigate a burglary that had occurred in the 500 block of S. Broadway, C&C Automotive. According to the report, a stereo system was stolen from a vehicle and the owner is pursuing charges.
Monday, June 13
*3:24pm-Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding suspicious circumstances. Emergency personnel advised dispatch that two children were being treated in the ER with suspicious injuries, the report states. Child Protective Services was contacted.
4:35pm-A Brownwood Police officer was travelling Northwest on US 377 near the intersection of Coggin Avenue, when he observed a red ice chest slide out of a white Ford pick-up. The owner could not be located and the cooler was placed into the property room at Brownwood Police Department for safe keeping until the owner could properly claim it, the report states.
*4:44pm-Brownwood Police received a report of theft in the 2000 block of Belmeade. According to the report, a resident had employed a contractor who took money and did not complete the job he was hired to do, according to BPD officials. An investigation has been opened regarding the incident.
Tuesday, June 14
*3:23am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Avenue H regarding criminal mischief. After investigating, suspects were identified; however they could not be located at the time of the report.
*8:42am-A Brownwood Police officer took a report of fuel being siphoned from a vehicle while it was parked in the 2400 block of 12th Street overnight between the hours of 10pm and 8am. The report states that the suspect is unknown. The value of the fuel was estimated at $70.
*2:19pm-Brownwood Police were called to a disturbance in the 3700 block of Savoy Drive. According to the report, the victim was outside when the officer arrived and stated that her son had damaged her apartment and was intoxicated. The apartment was found to have a broken window. The suspect had also broken the victim’s eyeglasses, the report states. Suspect information was obtained and criminal mischief charges are pending.
*9:14pm-Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. The loss prevention employee reported that a woman, identified as 25-year-old Amber Leann Snider, had attempted to leave the store without paying for numerous items. According to the report, the employee had seen Snider put items from her shopping basket into her purse and into a Wal-Mart sack that she had brought into the store. Snider was arrested for Theft equal or Greater than $50 and Less than $500.
*9:20pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Walnut Street regarding a found bicycle. Upon a check of the serial number, the bicycle did not show to be stolen and it was placed into the Brownwood Police impound for safekeeping until the owner could claim it. After looking closely at the bicycle, the officer noticed “SBB” and a date engraved into the bicycle the report states. By checking birthdates of people listed in the Brownwood Police database, a child was located to live within a couple of blocks of where the bike was found. The officer made contact with the family, spoke with the child and found that the girl’s bicycle had been lost or stolen two days prior and she had not told her mother because she did not want to get in trouble, the report states. She and her mother had been looking for the bicycle this day and had not found it. They reported that they did not call the police because bicycles thefts are so frequent that they did not believe they would find it. Arrangements were made for the family to pick up the bicycle.
Wednesday, June 15
*12:21am-Brownwood Police were called to a disturbance in the 500 block of 7th Street. According to the report, the victim and the suspect of this incident were found to be victims of family violence as a result of the investigation. No arrests were made at this time.
*12:26am-Brownwood Police responded to an assault in the 1700 block of Brady Avenue. Investigation revealed that a female was assaulted by her common law spouse at their residence.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
