According to Early Chief of Police David Mercer, Early officers Stephanie Haile and Andres Contreras stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of River Oaks for a seat belt violation on Wednesday which led to the arrest of a local man on multiple drug charges.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Kevin Shane Sliger, threw something from the vehicle then stopped and ran on foot, according to Mercer. Haile and Contreras chased him on foot through several yards and were assisted by Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden units.
Officers found Sliger hiding in some shrubs next to a house. The item thrown from the vehicle was located and found to be a small amount of methamphetamine and meth pipe, Mercer said.
Sliger was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, tampering with physical evidence, and evading arrest or detention with previous conviction. He was also wanted for a parole violation.

*Early Police received a report of the burglary of a storage building on the Early High School campus. According to Chief David Mercer, an unknown suspect had broken into the storage building located near the tennis courts on campus and stole tennis balls and various equipment from inside. It is believed the crime took place over the past two weeks. No suspects were known at the time of the report.
Wednesday, June 12
*6:12 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of 12th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, during the overnight hours, someone cut the sidewalls of two of his vehicle’s tires.
*10:22 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, sometime between 7:00 a.m. on June 11th and 10:20 a.m. on the 12th, someone cut all the tires on the complainant’s vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence.
*2:10 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding the tattooing of a minor. According to the report, the complainant reported that her child had been tattooed without her permission and she wanted to pursue charges against the tattooer.
*6:20 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of N. Main Street regarding harassment and a breach of computer security. According to the report, the complainants stated that an unauthorized person was making posts to a web site causing financial loss to their business.
*11:36 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, a female subject had advised dispatch that her husband tried to kill her. The incident led to the arrest of 35-year-old Stuart Sibley who was charged with assault with bodily injury family violence, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Brittany Davis of Houston on a warrant for motion to adjudicate related to harassment of a public servant.
*Brownwood Police arrested 67-year-old Albert Eugene Langehennig of Coleman on a Kerr County warrant for bail jumping and failure to appear related to criminal trespass.
*Brownwood Police arrested 50-year-old Troy Dean Morey of Comanche for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Ethan McCoy Reed of Arlington on a warrant related to injury to a child. Reed is being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
