Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, June 13, 2014.
Wednesday, June 11
*2:13 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Lane Street regarding theft and criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that his Craftsman lawnmower with oversized rear tires had been stolen and the tires of his motorcycle had been damaged.
*2:23 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Waco Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime over the past two days an unknown suspect entered the residence and removed several electronic items without the owner’s consent.
*2:50 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of Lane Street regarding theft. According to the report, numerous items of jewelry, a safe, a security surveillance system and miscellaneous papers were stolen from the residence. Suspects have been identified, the report states.
*4:00 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Hwy 377S regarding a reckless driver. According to the report, a witness stated that a blue Chevrolet Caprice Classic had been driving “crazy” in and out of traffic. When the officer arrived, the witness informed him that the suspect vehicle was then parked, the report states. The officer was able to locate the suspect driver, identified as Rickie Osburn, who had a strong odor of alcohol on his person and was determined to be intoxicated, the report states. Osburn failed several field sobriety checks and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. A search warrant was obtained as well as a specimen of Osburn’s blood at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.*5:15 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Avenue G regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant’s black iPhone 4GS had been stolen and a suspect was identified.
*5:49 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of US Hwy 377S regarding theft. According to the report, a Nabi tablet had been stolen from a residence in the area.
*9:38 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Vincent Street regarding an argument. According to the report, officers arrived to find the argument took place between co-workers and the complainant/victim had been assaulted by a co-worker.
Thursday, June 12
*10:56 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the Law Enforcement Center regarding an assault. According to the report, an assault was reported and an officer was dispatched to a location where a female subject reported being assaulted in an incident of family violence. A suspect was identified, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of identity theft. According to the report, Ace Cash Express of Irving notified the victim by mail that he was past due on a loan, which originated May 19, 2014. The victim stated that he has never initiated or received a loan from Ace Cash Express the report states. The loan was in the amount of $899.11 and the total amount currently outstanding is $780.00.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of identity theft. According to the report, the victim reported that someone had purchased an iPhone 5 at an Apple Store in New York using his AT&T account information and he believes he is the victim of identity theft. The victim also stated that AT&T would not disclose any information regarding the transaction to him, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Juan Carlos Castaneda of Brownwood for tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, possession of marijuana equal or less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old David Wayne Coburn of Stanford for tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Zachary Delarosa of Brownwood for tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana equal or less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Edward Wayne Johnson, Jr. of Kilgore for failure to appear/theft of service equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*Brownwood Police arrested 23-year-old Derrick Rinella of Brownwood on a Hood County warrant related to driving while license invalid with previous conviction/suspension without financial responsibility.
Friday, June 13
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an animal bite. The victim advised he had been bitten on the hand by his own dog, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 58-year-old Curtis Harrison of Brownwood for injury to a child/elderly/disabled person, assault public servant, resist arrest search or transport, and evading arrest detention.
