Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday June 13, 2011.
Tuesday, June 7
*9:08am-Brownwood Police received a report of the burglary of a habitation in the 2700 block of Greenway. According to the report, the complainant provided three checks in addition to some that have already been reported as stolen and forged on the victims account. The checks made payable to Food Plaza and Hastings were placed into evidence and will be added to the case file the report states.
*10:45am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Durham regarding a stolen bicycle. According to the report, the complainant had received information regarding the whereabouts of his stolen bicycle. The complainant provided officers with the serial number and made contact with the suspect at a residence in the 1600 block of Broadmoor. The bicycle was identified by means of the serial number and returned to its rightful owner the report states. The complainant did wish to pursue criminal charges against the suspect.
Friday, June 10
*9:00am-Brownwood Police were contacted by the manager of a local apartment complex who advised that she had been getting complaints regarding one of the apartments that had a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Investigation led to the issuance of a citation of a subject for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia the report states.
*4:27pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that he caught a female suspect stealing approximately $17.69 worth of property from Wal-Mart. The suspect was released after receiving a citation for theft under $50.
*6:51pm-Brownwood Police were called by a complainant who questioned what she should do regarding identity theft. She advised that her husband’s identity had been stolen and used in 2005 to open a Dish Network account in Rhome, Texas the report states.
*7:58pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of San Benito where a complainant reported that someone stole his bicycle from outside of Wal-Mart sometime during the past week.
*9:02pm-Brownwood Police received a report of terroristic threat. According to the report, the victim stated that a known suspect was at their residence, in the 800 block of Avenue G, and became involved in an argument. The suspect then left the residence, stood in the street and threatened to kill the victim the report states.
Saturday, June 11
*12:55am-Two Brownwood Policemen were patrolling when they observed a vehicle speeding in the 400 block of Main Street. According to the report, the officers caught up with the vehicle in a couple of blocks and initiated a traffic stop. One of the officers reported that “almost immediately” after they activated the overhead lights, the driver’s side door opened and a white object fell out of the door and blew along the roadway. The driver shut the door before coming to a stop the report states. The occupants of the vehicle were identified and the 25-year-old driver was issued a citation for littering and for an open container.
*2:25pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Lackey Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle was burglarized while she was working at Chili’s Restaurant on E. Commerce. A large red purse was stolen during the offense which was believed to have occurred between the hours of 9:30pm on 6/10 and 1:30am 6/11 the report states.
*11:45pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy made a stop due to a traffic violation on Hwy 279. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Sarah Jo Huyck of Abilene, appeared very nervous and stated that her license was suspended, according to the report. Dispatch confirmed the admission of the driver and advised the officer that Huyck had one prior conviction for Driving While License Invalid. Huyck was arrested for driving while license invalid. One half of an oblong white pill was located inside a ring box which was in the vehicle when it was inventoried before towing, according to the officer’s report. Huyck advised that the pill was Seraquel, for which she does not have a prescription, the report states. The pill was seized and placed into evidence for further processing.
*Early Police arrested 33-year-old Kenneth Dan Flanagan of Brownwood for Public Intoxication.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 23-year-old Logan Hall Watt for Driving While Intoxicated.
Sunday, June 12
*12:23am-Brownwood Police received a report of theft. The complainant came to the Law Enforcement Center to report items stolen from her purse while she was working at Wal-Mart on a previous date. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*12:25am-Brownwood Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 500 block of 7th Street. The accident involved a parked vehicle and a moving vehicle the report states. Investigation led to the arrest of 28-year-old Samuel Juarez for Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd.
*7:35am-Brownwood Police responded to the 1200 block of Poindexter where a male had passed out in the middle of an alleyway. According to the report, officers located the male and found he was showing signs of intoxication. The male, identified as 24-year-old Mitchell Lynn Byrd, was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*10:15am-Brownwood Police received a report of found property in the 2600 block of Durham Avenue. According to the report, the resident reported that a bicycle had been found on the side of his residence. The bicycle was taken to the Brownwood Police Department (BPD) for safekeeping until the owner can properly identify and claim it.
*7:20pm- Early Police made a traffic stop on a pick-up truck in the 900 block of Early Blvd. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Scott Locke of Brownwood. According to the report, Locke appeared very nervous and was shaking when the officer spoke with him. During the investigation, the officer searched the vehicle where several pills were located the report states. Locke had no prescription for the pills, identified as Focalin XR, which is a penalty group 2 drug. Locke was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, a 2nd degree felony.
*7:41pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a robbery and arrived at a residence to investigate. According to the report, the victim told the officer that he was attacked in the 1700 block of Coggin Avenue by a large male and thrown into some bushes after being robbed of $40. After some investigation and witness statements, a suspect identified as 29-year-old Jesse David DeLeon of Zephyr was arrested for Robbery and the $40 was seized and taken into evidence, the report states. After being released on $5,000 bond, DeLeon was arrested again on June 12th for Driving While License Invalid by Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
*10:15pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Avenue B regarding a domestic disturbance. Dispatch advised the officer that during an argument, a suspect had picked up a 10-foot Oak tree branch and attempted to hit the victim. Officers made contact with the suspect who denied ever having an oak branch, the report states. The victim was also contacted and denied the incident; however did admit that the suspect had threatened to do physical harm to her the officer reported. After investigation, a report was made for further investigation of violation of Texas Penal Code 22.07(b).
*Sunday night, a Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle with a driver that appeared to be lost. During the investigation, a consensual search of the vehicle was performed and the officer located crack cocaine in the vehicle officials reported. The driver, 50-year-old James Victor Carr was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1, less than or greater than 1g in a Drug Free Zone.
*Early Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1200 block of C.C. Woodson which was under the suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Wesley Bible of Bangs, failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Bible was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center where a blood sample was taken. He was then transported to Brown County Jail.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
