Tuesday, May 29
*1:00pm-Brownwood Police received information from a Brown County Sheriff’s investigator regarding a sex offender who had failed to comply with registration. An investigation is pending.
Wednesday, May 30
*6:03am-Brownwood Police were called to the Wal-Mart parking lot regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant stated that when she came out of the store, two witnesses told her another vehicle had struck her vehicle which was parked in a handicapped parking space on row 6. The complainant’s vehicle was damaged on the left rear quarter panel.
*8:29pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 7th Street regarding a found bicycle. According to the report, the bicycle was found at the side of the complainant’s home by a neighbor child. The bicycle was checked to see if it was reported stolen, which it was not. It was placed in the BPD bicycle impound for safekeeping until its owner can properly identify and claim it.
Thursday, May 31
*2:42am-Brownwood Police responded to the report of theft at Weakley-Watson Hardware. According to the report, several individuals in a white SUV with a tan stripe along the bottom were reportedly stealing wooden pallets and landscaping materials from the sidewalk in front of the store. The suspects were gone upon the officer’s arrival, the report states.
*4:10am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, when the store’s owner reviewed video surveillance, he became aware that a customer had taken merchandise out of its packaging and left the store without paying for the merchandise.
*7:33am-Brownwood Police responded to the 1500 block of Vine Street regarding the burglary of two vehicles. According to the report, the complainant stated that the driver’s side front door window was broken out and her purse containing her wallet and personal items had been stolen. She also advised that her mother’s vehicle had the driver’s side front door window broken out and her purse was also stolen, the report states. Both purses were recovered; however items were missing from both purses, the report states. Both women wished to pursue charges.
*8:18am-Brownwood were called to the 800 block of Avenue G regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between the hours of 4:30pm on May 30th and 8:00am on May 31st, someone had taken an iPod with “Herbalife” engraved on the back along with the Herbalife logo from his pickup. The complainant also noted that an iPod charger was taken from his pickup as well, the report states.
*8:39am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Durham Avenue regarding found property. This call led to the recovery of a pink and silver 21-speed bicycle, the report states.
*4:04pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3200 block of Milam Drive, the Aquatic Center, regarding the theft of an iPhone. According to the report, the complainant stated that her iPhone 3GS with a green and black cover on it was stolen from her bag while she was swimming at the pool. The incident occurred between 2:40pm and 3:30pm, the report states.
*6:08pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Riverside Drive regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant was being harassed by her estranged husband. The complainant did wish to pursue criminal charges against her husband.
*6:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of N. Main, Kroger, regarding theft from a coin operated machine. According to the report, an unknown subject broke into the Monster Energy Drink machine in front of the store between 8:00am and 2:00pm, stealing approximately twenty energy drinks.
*6:12pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Vincent regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated he left his home at approximately 3:00pm and returned around 5:30pm to find that someone had stolen his battery operated chair from his carport. Normally he locks up the chair; however he forgot this day, the report states. The chair was later recovered and returned to the complainant according to police.
*6:58pm-Brownwood Police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Avenue J regarding a medical emergency. According to the report, Brownwood Fire Department and Guardian EMS were already on scene and requested police assistance. Brownwood Police reports indicate that an elderly male was found to be living in poor conditions and had failing health. Emergency responders reported swarms of flies inside his home along with scattered debris and waste. The elderly male was reported to be disoriented and confused, the report states. According to Brownwood Police records, officers responded to the residence on May 18th when neighbors reported the elderly male had attempted to drive while he was confused and disoriented. At that time, he refused to cooperate with Adult Protective Services or emergency responders; however, during the current incident, the elderly male was transported to the emergency room for treatment.
*7:40pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Bailey regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that a juvenile male hit him in the face and then left the scene.
*9:45pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that a known subject assaulted her on two separate occasions within the past month.
Friday, June 1
*12:01am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of Songbird Circle regarding an unwanted person. As a result of this call, a subject was issued a criminal trespass warning and the subject left the property.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
