AlvaradoLuisGeradoA probation search led to the arrest of a Brownwood man on Wednesday, April 24th on a charge of possession of marijuana and multiple warrants related to sexual crimes committed against minor victims according to Brownwood Police and a report released today.

According to Brownwood Police Sergeant James Kidd, 22-year-old Luis Gerado Alvarado was arrested on Wednesday, April 24th after evidence was found during a probation search which indicated he was involved in these types of activities.  Alvarado allegedly texted and contacted minors between 14 and 15-year-old online to meet him in person and was found to have also solicited them for sex, according to Kidd.

Charges against Alvarado include four counts of online solicitation of a minor (Coleman County), three counts of sexual assault of a child (Coleman County), online solicitation of a minor (Brown County), and sexual assault of a child (Brown County).

Kidd stated that because there were multiple minor victims, Homeland Security is also investigating the case and secured several federal warrants against Alvarado.  Brownwood Police has filed the case for the sexual assault in Brown County.  Coleman County Sheriff’s Office and Santa Anna Police are also cooperating in the investigation.

Alvarado is currently being held in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $128,600.

Friday, May 3

*3:00 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft of service.  According to the report, the complainant paid the suspect $5066.66 to start a construction job on Fox Hollow Lane in Early.  The suspect cashed the check and started the job; however he never returned to finish the job and had not answered calls or text messages from the complainant, the report states.

Monday, May 6

*10:34 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Market Place Blvd regarding a terroristic threat.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he was having an ongoing problem with a former customer.  The customer allegedly confronts the complainant in public places, “bumping him and making verbal threats,” according to the report.

*11:26 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding unsecure premises.  According to the report, the apartment appeared to have been burglarized.

*3:06 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding theft.  According to the report, an unknown suspect used the complainant’s credit card number recently to make a purchase of more than $800 in Pennsylvania.

*4:28 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding theft of medication.

*5:30 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant regarding identity theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that while attempting to change his auto insurance, he became aware of two traffic citations that had been issued in Montgomery County to someone using his name, date of birth and Texas Driver’s license number.

Tuesday, May 7

*7:24 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he had parked his car in a hotel parking lot at approximately 4:30 p.m. the day before and when he left his room at approximately 6:30 a.m. the next morning, he noticed that someone had run into his vehicle, damaging the right side of his vehicle.

*8:59 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of 7th Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant’s daughter had purchased bus tickets totaling $180.00 using his debit card without his permission.  The complainant wished to pursue charges against his daughter.

*9:35 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Southside Drive regarding an assault at the Brownwood Accelerated High School.  According to the report, a student allegedly assaulted two employees and was throwing property around an office and police assistance was requested.  This call led to the arrest of the student who was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.

*11:00 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office met with a complainant who advised she received an email confirming her order from Wal-Mart using her debit card to pay for it.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she did not place the order or approve of the order being debited to her bank account.

*4:16 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart, 401 W. Commerce, regarding theft.  According to the report, officers arrived to find two suspects were detained by store employees.  The suspects, identified as 43-year-old Aaron Ray Pippen and 31-year-old Melissa Sue Benson, had attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise.  Items stolen included women’s clothing, shoes, jigsaw puzzles and power tools, according to the report.  Pippen and Benson were subsequently arrested for theft greater than $50 less than $100.

*7:22 PM – Brownwood police were responded to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the complainant stated her ex-husband had assaulted her and interfered with an emergency call.  The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Kenneth Ray Anderson, was located in the residence and resisted officers’ attempts to detain him.  Anderson was charged with assault family/house member impede breath/circulation; interfere with emergency call, resist arrest search or transport, and for a warrant out of Runnels County for theft by check.

*7:39 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of LaMonte Drive regarding a possible assault.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 38-year-old Daniels Adam Goras of Early on a warrant related to burglary of a building.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Curtis Eugene Taylor of Cross Plains for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon.

Wednesday, May 8

*30-year-old Mary Kay Little was arrested on three warrants related to no driver’s license, failure to maintain financial responsibility and expired motor vehicle registration.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Auston R. Welker for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 28 grams.
