Law enforcement arrests and reports released May 4, 2012.

Wednesday, May 2

*9:01am-Brownwood Police were called to the alley behind the 1600 block of Coggin Avenue regarding a found bicycle.  According to the report, the bicycle had been left sometime overnight.  The bicycle was turned into the Brownwood Police bike impound as found property.

*11:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to the report of criminal trespass of a habitation in the 1400 block of 12th Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she had left the residence around 3:30pm May 2nd with all the doors locked, window shades down and all the lights off.  When she returned, the front door was unlocked, all the window shades were up, all the lights in the home were on and the bathroom window was raised and its glass broken the report states.

Thursday, May 3

*10:16am-Brownwood Police received a report of a burglary of a vehicle in the 400 block of W. Commerce.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a flip phone was stolen in the offense.  The complainant later advised police that he found his phone and requested no police action be taken, the report states.

*10:45am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Belle Plain regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between the hours of 8:00am and 10:40am this date, someone had entered her residence and stole her prescriptions.  No suspects have been named and the case is ongoing, the report states.

*4:45pm-Brownwood police met a complainant at the Brownwood Police Department regarding credit/debit card abuse.

*9:59pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1700 block of Dallas Street to the report of a possible stolen vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her brother had taken a black Ford pickup from Big Country Ford earlier this date and did not return the vehicle and that he had just left the location on Dallas Street.  The complainant later received a phone call from the suspect’s wife that returned home after taking the vehicle back to Big Country Ford the report states.

Friday, May 4

*1:32am-A Brownwood Police officer patrolling the area of C. C. Woodson Road and Milton Street observed two subjects on bicycles which were improperly equipped.  According to the report, an attempt was made to contact the subjects; however, upon seeing the patrol unit, the subjects fled.  One subject abandoned his bicycle in a yard in the 300 block of N. Greenleaf Street and was unable to be located.  The bicycle was collected for safe keeping, the report states.

*1:36am- According to police reports, a Brownwood Police officer observed 33-year-old Monica Castaneda, who was determined to have local warrants, in the 200 block of N. Fisk.  According to the report, Castaneda initially provided the officer with the wrong name and date of birth.  Castaneda was arrested on the two warrants and for Failing to Identify as a Fugitive.

*2:10am-Brownwood Police received a report of an assault with injury in the 2300 block of Main Blvd.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her brother assaulted her at her residence and then fled the scene.

*2:20am-Brownwood Police arrested 27-year-old John Robert Quick of Spring, Texas on a City of Brownwood warrant during a pedestrian stop in the 1100 block of Austin Avenue, according to jail records.  During a search of Quick’s person, 10-2mg Alprazolam tablets were found in his shorts pocket, the report states.  In addition to the warrant, Quick is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Less than 28 grams in a Drug Free Zone.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
