Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, May 4, 2011.

Monday, May 2

*1:33pm-Brownwood Police were called to 800 Rogan, Brownwood Intermediate School, where it was reported a student appeared to be under the influence.

Tuesday, May 3

*9:24am-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to CR 202 in reference to illegal dumping.  No identifying information was found in the trash.  Brown County Jail trustees will be brought at a later time to clean up the trash according to the report.

*9:30am-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was on patrol in the area of CR 201 when he noticed a very malnourished horse along with another horse that was not in as poor of shape as the first.  A resident of a nearby property was contacted in an effort to locate the owner who was not at home at that time.  A report was filed along with pictures of the malnourished animals.

*11:15pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside, Food Plaza, regarding theft.  According to the report, the clerk advised officers that a tall male stole a 30-pack of beer and the store wished to pursue charges if the suspect could be identified.

*11:19pm-Brownwood Police received a complaint of online harassment which was being sent through Facebook messages.

*4:00pm-A complainant came to the BPD to report the trespass of a habitation in the 2600 block of 1st Street.  A suspect is known and a report has been filed.

* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 38-year-old Lucilla Ortega for Driving While License Invalid/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

Wednesday, May 4

*1:47am-Brownwood Police were called to the 3400 block of Durham regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that 30-year-old Troy Earl Crouch, Jr. kicked her vehicle and hit it with a baseball bat.  Crouch admitted to officers that he did kick and hit the vehicle the report states.  The victim wished to pursue criminal charges; therefore, Crouch was arrested for Criminal Mischief equal or greater than $500 and less than $1500.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 47-year-old Ralph Lopez of Comanche for Failure to Identify/ False Information Fugitive and 7 outstanding warrants (including one from Comanche County).

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
