Law enforcement reports and arrests released on Tuesday, May 31.

Friday, May 27

*8:55am-Brownwood Police were called to the old Camp Bowie tower regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant (a city employee) stated that an unknown amount of large metal pipe fittings and other utility items had been stolen.  At the time of the report, city employees were compiling an inventory of all stolen items and their value, the report states.  The investigation is ongoing.

*11:29am-Brownwood Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Avenue G.   According to the report, the complainant stated that she was at her residence when a known suspect came over and began pushing her.  Her son tried to intervene and the suspect then began pushing him around as well, the report states.  No arrest was made at the time of the report.

*4:21pm-Brownwood Police were called regarding a traffic hazard at 9th Street and Avenue K.  According to police, a vehicle was parked and unoccupied, located in the opposing lane of traffic.  Officers were unable to locate the registered owner.

*8:56pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant advised that an unknown suspect(s) had stolen her purse out of the shopping basket she was using while she was inside Wal-Mart.

*11:58pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Melwood regarding a fight.  According to police reports, several witnesses stated that the victim was assaulted by a male with a red bandana who had left the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.  The victim was treated by Guardian EMS for a cut above his lip the report states.

*Bangs Police Department arrested 26-year-old Enrique Hared Gonzalez on an INS Detainer.

Saturday, May 28

*9:10am-Brownwood Police responded to a call regarding an unwanted person at a residence in the 2200 block of Vine Street.  According to the report, the complainant advised the officer of a dispute between himself and the suspect.  The suspect was advised of criminal trespass and civil options were discussed the report states.

*10:12am-Brownwood Police received a report of found property (a Fisher m-scope pipe and a cable locator) which was turned in and taken to the BPD evidence room where it could be secured.

*12:55pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Vine Street regarding a civil disturbance with an unwanted person.  According to the report, the complainant reported that the unknown person had walked into his house without consent and left.  The suspect was not able to be located the report states.

*8:05pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of 6th Street regarding a male who would not leave the area.  According to the report, the male was located and identified as 48-year-old Michael Hernandez.  After investigating, Hernandez was arrested for Public Intoxication.

*11:00pm-A phone call reporting a phone call from a known suspect by Brownwood Police Department Communications that constituted terroristic threat to a public servant.  According to the report, an investigation is ongoing.  A report has been filed and a warrant is being sought the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Ethan Abney for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family violence.

Sunday, May 29

*7:22am-Brownwood Police dispatched to the 600 block of Avenue C regarding a civil matter.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he was assaulted by his girlfriend’s father the night before.  The two had been driving to her father’s house on 16th Street when they got into an argument, the report states.  When they arrived, the complainant and the girlfriend’s father became involved in a physical altercation. The girlfriend’s father stated that he was protecting his daughter the report states.  No arrests were made at the time of the incident and all parties refused medical attention at that time.

*11:44am-Brownwood Police spoke received a report of a burglary of a vehicle.  The incident occurred between 10pm on May 28th and 9am on May 29th the report states.

*2:25pm-Brownwood Police responded to 1700 block of Avenue C regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the complainant told officers she was at a friend’s house when her boyfriend came over and began kicking the door, trying to get in.  The report states that the complainant attempted to leave the residence by getting into her vehicle.  According to the report, the victim stated that her boyfriend pulled her out of the car and then got into the vehicle and left.  The victim had minor injuries and the door had only minor damage.  No arrest was made at the time of the report.

*8:04pm-Brownwood Police received a report from a complainant who stated someone had dumped clothing, books and furniture on her property over the weekend.  According to the report, an investigation led officers to speak with a resident in the 2000 block of Elizabeth who stated he had a garage sale over the weekend and paid a man named “Johnny” to haul off the items that had not sold.  The resident stated that if he could not make contact with Johnny, he would remove the items off of the property on Newman Street within the next few days, according to police.

*10:53pm-Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run in the 1500 block of Terrace Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle had been struck overnight while parked in front of her apartment.  The left fender and headlight were damaged.

Monday, May 30

*1:39am-Brownwood Police responded to 1500 Magnolia regarding a domestic disturbance.   According to the report, the investigation revealed that 33-year-old Byron Mitchell and 40-year-old Rene Esparza were involved in a physical altercation after during an argument.   Both subjects were reported to have grabbed for a kitchen knife; however Mitchell received minor injuries from the knife during the incident, officials state.  Both parties were arrested.  Mitchell was charged with Assault with Injury Family Violence and Esparza was charged with Aggravated Assault with Injury Family Violence Using a Weapon.

*8:47am-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a report of Animal Cruelty in the Shamrock Shores area of Lake Brownwood.  According to the report, the deputy arrived to find two dogs that were very thin and not being given proper care.  The deputy stated that the dogs’ ribs could be seen and their abdomen area seemed to be drawn in.   Other dogs were inside the residence barking while the deputy was on the property the report states.  No one was at home during the deputy’s visit and there was no answer at the phone number provided by dispatch for the address.  The owner could not be contacted at the time of the report.

*11:21pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report at BSCO of a lost wallet.  According to the complainant, she had taken disabled residents from a local assisted living center through the drive through at McDonald’s and then took the residents back to the center.  Afterwards, she could not find her clutch purse which contained $43.00, her Texas driver’s license and several debit and credit cards, the report states.  The complainant reported the last time she remembered seeing the purse was when she had paid at McDonalds.  After looking through the vehicle, the complainant stated that she also looked through the residents’ room to see if any of them might have picked up her purse; however she did not find it the report states.  Due to the purse containing debit and credit cards, she wished to file a report with police.

*1:40pm-Brownwood Police received a report of two Golden Retrievers that were missing from the area of Asbury and Asbury Court.  The dogs were last seen around 1:00am and discovered missing at 8:00am.

*7:37pm-Brownwood were called to the 1700 block of Belle Plain regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated her sister had stolen $40 from her residence.  The sister was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning.

*8:51pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Durham where a complainant reported his bicycle had been stolen by a known subject.  According to the report, the subject was located with another male and one of the bicycles they were on was the bicycle from Durham Avenue.  Officers placed 17-year-old Damian Christian Sawyers, who was riding the stolen bicycle, under arrest for Theft greater than $50 less than $500 and Possession of Stolen Property.  The other subject was also charged with theft, the report states.

*11:02pm-Brownwood Police initiated a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue due to a defective license plate lamp.  According to the report, this stop led to the search of the vehicle in which the officer found a baggie of marijuana, which led to the arrest of 21-year-old Evan Robert Campbell for Possession of Marijuana Less than 2oz.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
