Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday and Wednesday, May 24-25, 2011.

Sunday, May 22

*3:36pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center who reported that a set of keys had been stolen from his residence on May 10, 2011.  According to the report, one of the keys on that set is to his home, which was broken into using the key and items were taken.  A known suspect has been reported; however, at the time of the report, no arrest had been made.

Monday, May 23

*9:24am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief that had occurred at a residence in the north Lake Brownwood area.  The complainant stated that someone spray painted over writings that her deceased husband had made on a storage shed on her property. The words “Sons of Satan” and other writings had been covered up by the gray paint.  The complainant advised that the homeowners’ association at Tamarack Mountain had been contacting her to remove the writings for some time.  She told the deputy when she spoke with a maintenance man regarding the vandalism; he laughed at her, told her he thought she had painted it, and laughed at her for calling it vandalism, the report states.  The complainant wished to pursue charges against any possible suspects.

*11:59am-A reporting party turned over a wallet at the Law Enforcement Center which had been found in Brownwood lying in the middle of the road at the intersection of Avenue E and 13th Street.  The owner of the wallet has not been located so the wallet was placed into BPD evidence for safe keeping.

*1:55pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy received a report of theft of property greater than $50 less than $500.  The reporting party stated that his sister had taken his medication, prescription hydrocodone, and flushed it down the toilet the day before.  The deputy calculated when the prescription was filled and the amount the man takes daily to calculate how many pills were missing.  Approximately 108 of the pills would be missing according to the man’s statement.  When the man contacted his doctor to refill the prescription, he was advised to file a police report so that the doctor could issue a new prescription.  The man stated that his sister had texted him telling him she had flushed the medication; however he could not produce the text due to deleting it earlier.  The deputy advised the man to contact his cellular provider to see if the text could be retrieved.

*2:03pm-Brownwood Police responded to Cross Country Care Center regarding stolen medication.  The reporting party stated that during a medication audit, it was discovered that 30 hydrocodone pills were missing.  The reporting party requested that a report to be filed regarding the incident.  An internal investigation continues at the facility.

*8:19pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to BPD regarding the report of a stolen cell phone.

Tuesday, May 24

*10:20am-Brown County Sheriff’s Department received a report of criminal mischief/interference with Public Services.  A deputy spoke with the complainant who advised that the landlord had turned off the utilities of the rent house in an effort to evict her and her roommates who she said were current on their rent until the end of the month.   The legal eviction process was explained to the landlord who was out of town at the time.  No charges had been filed at the time of the report.

*11:22am-Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Public Library regarding disorderly conduct.  The reporting party stated that the subject (a library patron) had become belligerent with another patron and a criminal trespass warning was requested to be issued to the subject.

*12:00am-Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy received a report of harassment.  A female complainant stated that a male she was no longer dating was harassing her by text and phone calls on nearly a daily basis.  According to the report, the complainant stated she is becoming scared of the suspect and that he had even stated that “people get what they deserve, and telling her that he would make the news, maybe even the national news.”  The female wished to pursue charges and to have a trespass warning issued against the subject for her home address the report states.  As requested the trespass warning was issued and the male was advised to stop all contact with the complainant.

Wednesday, May 25

*12:57am-A Brownwood Police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a defective license plate lamp.  The driver, identified as 34-year-old Jermaine Hayes was found to be intoxicated.  Hayes submitted to a blood draw and was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
