LECSmBrownwood Police are investigating an aggravated assault involving a weapons offense which occurred Monday evening.  Assistant Chief James Fuller released the following information.

On Monday, May 23, 2016 at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers with the Brownwood Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Good Shepherd regarding a report of shots being fired in the area.

Through the course of the investigation, officers learned that a telephone argument between two family members escalated when one of the male subjects confronted the other at an apartment.  Both males argued until one displayed a handgun and chased the victim outside the apartment.  As the victim ran to his vehicle, the suspect fired a shot from a handgun; striking the vehicle.

Everyone involved in this incident fled the scene just prior to officer’s arrival.  No one was reported injured.

The investigation remains on going, Fuller stated.
