Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, May 23, 2011.
Friday, May 20
*4:40pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Magnolia regarding a civil matter. The complainant reported an assault that had occurred on May 13, 2011. An investigation was started and a suspect has been named.
*10:33pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 200 block of Bluffview regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that his wife and son came to the residence and assaulted him during an argument. No arrests were made at the time of the report.
*11:50pm-Bronwnwood Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3900 block of 4th Street for defective brake lights. During the stop, the officer located marijuana inside the vehicle as well as on a male subject’s person the report states. 19-year-old Joel Larrea was arrested for Possession of Marijuana in a Drug Free Zone.
*11:07pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a reckless driver in the area of Hwy 377 east of Early. According to the report, as the deputy approached the vehicle, it was noted to be swerving and headed toward the ditch. The deputy made a traffic stop on the vehicle for a welfare check as well as suspicion of DWI. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Jesse James Kilgore of Zephyr, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to the Brown County Jail.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Jennifer Loraine Crader of Blanket for Violation of DWI Court.
Saturday, May 21
*12:25am-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Wes Copeland was on patrol when a red pickup pulled out of the Tequila Nights parking lot, cutting across two lanes of traffic, causing the deputy to brake aggressively in order not to hit the vehicle, according to the report. The passenger in the vehicle then extended his arm out of his window and proceeded to “flip off” the deputy, the report states. He then pulled into a gas station at Beaver and Commerce where the deputy was able to make contact with him. Both the driver, identified as 30-year-old Kevin Loy Wiedebusch, and the passenger, 26-year-old Douglas Owen Howard, were found to be extremely intoxicated according to the deputy. A warrant for a blood draw was obtained after Wiedebusch refused one voluntarily. Wiedebusch was arrested for DWI 2nd Offense and a blood sample was taken at BRMC. The passenger, identified as Douglas Owen Howard was also arrested on charges of Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct by Offensive Gesture.
*1:30am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 8th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated an unknown person(s) had toilet papered her residence and poured baby powder and syrup all across her porch and front door. Two possible suspects were named by the complainant.
*2:00am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the emergency room where hospital staff reported a patient had been had been assaulted within the city limits. According to the report, the complainant stated that he had been walking and encountered a man who he believes was a suspect who assaulted him a short time later. The male was walking near the West-T-Go convenience store, when a vehicle drove by and someone threw a bottle at him the report states. The complainant sustained a small cut that required a stitch to close the wound. He did not see who threw the bottle but recognized the vehicle as being at the house where he previously encountered the male subject according to the report. The complainant did not have an address for the house; however officers were not able to find a house or vehicle matching the description of the suspect home and vehicle. The officer was unable to find the bottle or pieces of a bottle where the assault occurred. No arrest had been made at the time of the report.
*1:30pm- Brownwood Police met with a complainant at BPD regarding an assault that had just occurred at the complainant’s residence in the 1100 block of Lamont. According to the report, a suspect was named; however, no arrest had been made at the time of the report.
*11:03pm-A Brownwood Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of Main Street. According to the report, investigation revealed that the driver, 22-year-old Samuel Sanchez, Jr. was intoxicated. Sanchez was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
*7:04pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Circle P Heights regarding a report of theft. According to the report, the complainant reported several items including a set of king sized sheets & pillow cases, a set of 40 dish towels, three containers of shampoo and four packs of ladies underwear were stolen from his property. As deputies took details of the theft, they noted that a subject, 64-year-old Johnnie Paulette Shipp was at the property where there was an emergency protective order placed against her for the complainant’s protection the report states. Previously on May 2nd, Johnnie Paulette Shipp and a man were involved in a disturbance and both were armed with weapons according to BCSO reports. Johnnie Shipp was deemed to be the primary aggressor and was armed with a knife the May 2nd report stated. She was arrested for Assault Family Violence with a Deadly Weapon at that time. Because the protective order was still valid, Johnnie Ship was again arrested, this time on charges of Violating a Protective Order.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 23-year-old Trevor Austin Hood of Merkel for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 3 Less than 28g and Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Douglas Owen Neil for Public Intoxication.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 33-year-old Ryan Anderson Reynolds of Merkel for Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.
Sunday, May 22
*12:10am-Brownwood Police officers were called to the 1900 block of 11th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, an unknown suspect deflated the driver’s side rear tire on the vehicle and damaged the driver’s side mirror. Strawberries, pickles and eggs were also covering the vehicle the report states.
*12:28am-A Brownwood Police officer observed a traffic violation and initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 300 block of Broadway. The driver, 30-year-old James H. Chapman was determined to be intoxicated and placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd.
*4:34am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Avenue I regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter had assaulted her and that she wished to pursue charges against her for the incident. The daughter fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival the report states.
*8:10am-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Beaver regarding an unconscious male in the road. According to the report, the officer arrived to find the man laying in the road on his back unconscious. The subject was having a hard time answering basic questions and explained to officers that he is a diabetic the report states. Guardian EMS was called and the subject was transported to the emergency room.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a suspicious vehicle in the area of Hwy 377 and CR 613 in Early. As a result of the stop, the driver who was identified as 21-year-old Brandon Vega Moreno of Comanche was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 54-year-old Michael Lee Schulze for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.
Monday, May 23
*A Brownwood Police Narcotics investigator received a tip that a woman was in possession of methamphetamine and began to investigate. When the investigator knocked on the door of the woman’s residence at Southside Village Apartments, she spoke with him and then allowed him into the residence to search for the reported drugs according to BPD officials. According to police reports, methamphetamine were located in the residence and the woman, identified as 37-year-old Sabrina Alicia Perez, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 less than 1g in a Drug Free Zone and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 3 less than 28g in a Drug Free Zone.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
