Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, May 2, 2012.

A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a male and female after an off duty Brownwood Police officer noticed a car slide sideways into the Corina restaurant parking lot on Hwy 279 after a fight had occurred inside the bloody car.

According to the report, the deputy stated that the car had blood on the inside and that both subjects had been involved in a fight after the brother and sister, identified as Ronald Bascum Adams and Amy Renea Elliott had left a bar where they had been celebrating her birthday.

Both Elliott and Adams had blood on their faces from being hit in the nose by each other, the report states.  Adams stated that he made Elliott leave the bar and they began fighting when Elliott hit him while he was driving, the report states.   Elliott told the deputy that Adams had hit her first and that she hit him back.  Neither wanted to tell the reason for the fight; however Elliott stated that her brother said she had a disease and that was when the fight began, the report states.

According to the off duty BPD officer, when the car stopped in the parking lot, Elliott had started to get out and was doing something in the back seat when Adams attempted to drive off.  That was when she identified herself as an officer and ordered Adams to stop the car, and then sat with the pair until the BCSO deputy responded to the scene, the report states.

Both Elliott and Adams were determined to be aggressors in the altercation according to the report and had physically assaulted each other. They were both arrested and charged with Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.
