Thursday, May 16

*9:40am-Brownwood Police responded to a three vehicle accident in the 2000 block of Hwy 377S.  This call led to the arrest of 20-year-old Richard James Potter for outstanding Brown County warrants and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility/Driving While License Invalid.

*9:41am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding theft of property.  According to the report, the complainant was inside the convenience store paying for gas when someone stole a weed eater off of his trailer.

*11:28am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Middle School regarding a juvenile problem of disorderly conduct by loud and profane language.

*12:34pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of Belle Plain Street regarding two social security cards which were found.  According to the report, a male subject claimed that he found two social security cards in the front yard of his residence.  After further investigation, it was determined that the social security cards had been reported stolen from a vehicle on May 12th, the report states.  Suspects were named in the burglary and the case is ongoing, the report states.

*4:12pm-Brownwood Police made a pedestrian stop in the 800 block of Belle Plain Street regarding a pedestrian who was walking on the wrong side of the road (with instead of against opposing traffic).  This stop led to the seizure of synthetic cannabinoid from the pedestrian with pending charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 2A less than 2 oz.  The pedestrian received a warning for walking on the wrong side of the roadway.

*8:13pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of N. Center Avenue regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the victim’s vehicle was struck in the parking lot while he was inside Hastings shopping.

Thursday, May 17

*1:30am-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence in Bangs regarding a burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he and his wife had been on vacation since May 1st and today had received a call from his brother that their home had been broken into.  The couple ended their vacation and came home to find several things missing from the home, the report states.  According to the report, the complainant believed that relatives were responsible for the burglary.  According to the report, items stolen included 2 televisions, 2 DVD players, a bow and arrow, and a Milwaukee tool kit.  The value of the items was estimated at $1790.49, the report states.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
