Friday, May 9
*2:28 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant was assaulted by her live-in boyfriend during an argument. He assaulted her again when she was attempting to leave with her children, the report states.
Wednesday, May 14
*9:20 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of 8th Street regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the calling party advised that an unknown suspect(s) in a black PT Cruiser had struck a utility pole in front of their home and fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was later located in the 1300 block of 13th Street and a report was filed.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the burglary of a habitation on Hwy 183 N, in Early. According to the report, the complainant stated that a known suspect entered her sister’s home without permission and stole medications.
Thursday, May 15
*2:44 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Vincent Street regarding a vehicle crash. According to the report, officers arrived and located an abandoned crashed vehicle. The reporting party stated that two males were seen running away from the scene of the crash, the report states. Damage was observed to a flower planter located in front of a structure in the 1800 block of Vincent Street, according to police.
*10:17 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Vincent Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the female complainant stated that her purse had been stolen out of the vehicle at approximately 10:05 a.m. while she was in Wes-T-Go.
*5:46 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that her 16-year-old daughter had assaulted her step-sister and step-father and the complainant did wish to pursue charges. The suspect was arrested, processed and then transported to a juvenile detention center in Abilene.
*7:54 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Beaver Street regarding a juvenile problem. According to the report, the juvenile fled from responding officers after being advised to stop and speak with the officer. While the juvenile was fleeing from the officers, he cursed in front of small children and other citizens in the area, the report states. The juvenile was arrested for evading arrest/detention and disorderly conduct and was taken to the Brown County Juvenile Detention Center.
*Steven Charles Crouch of West Point was arrested by Early Police for Possession of Marijuana less than or equal to 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Eric Tipton of Bangs on a warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dalton Allen Freeman of Bangs for warrants for no driver’s license and failure to appear.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Cody Sherrod of Springtown for motion to revoke for DWI.
Friday, May 16
*1:50 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 4th Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the victim reported having had an argument with her boyfriend related to her vehicle. The victim reported that the boyfriend had grabbed the steering wheel of the vehicle while she was driving and caused it to go over the curb of the roadway and then grabbed her around the neck, causing scratches to the back of her neck, the report states. The victim’s three children were also in the vehicle during the incident. An investigation of assault with injury family violence and endangering a child is underway, the report states.
*1:58 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of W. Commerce, Food Mart, regarding an alarm. According to the report, officers arrived to find the front door of the business had been shattered. The suspect had taken cigarettes and beer from the business, the report states. An investigation is ongoing according to police.
