Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood residence Tuesday night to a burglary in progress which resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old Brownwood man on multiple charges.

According to the report, Brownwood Police were dispatched to a residence in the 2400 block of Belmeade at 9:50 p.m. after an alert neighbor noticed a male subject walking around a home, looking into windows and eventually walking to the back of the home.  The neighbor called police and stated he heard the sound of breaking glass.  The occupant of the home was not present when the offense occurred, according to the report.

Officers arrived and observed lights on and a male subject walking around inside the home, the report states.  A male subject, later identified as 18-year-old Forrest Tyler Lee Brown, was observed by officers exiting a broken window at the back of the home with two boxlike items in his hands which were later identified as handguns.   One officer confronted Brown at gunpoint and ordered him to get on the ground face first, then Brown was handcuffed and the house was cleared by assisting officers, the report states.  Brown was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation.

At the time of his arrest and search, Brown was found to be wearing pajama pants, two pairs of athletic shorts and boxers, the report states.  When the officer asked Brown why he had on four layers of clothing, he stated, “In case I get cold,” the report states.

During the investigation, one of the officers was speaking with Brown, who after being read his Miranda Rights, who told of an alleged accomplice he had just met in the park.  According to the report, Brown stated that the other male had asked him if he wanted to “hit” a house.  Brown further explained that he told the other male that he wouldn’t go into the house, but that he would be a “look out.” He stated that the accomplice brought items to the broken window that he wanted to take and then advised Brown, “Hey, hey, cops are here, bolt!” when police began to arrive, according to the report.

A neighbor, who knew the renter of the house, contacted him and informed him of the incident, according to the report.  The renter identified the two guns as his, the report states.  Other items which had been brought to the window to be taken included a Solo cup with loose U.S. currency in it, two packs of watermelon gum and 15 full Miller Light beer cans.

A responding officer located a black back pack and skateboard at the back of the property which was found to be from a vehicle burglary reported in the 2100 block of Belmeade.  According to the report, a palm print from the vehicle burglary matched that of Brown’s palm print taken by jail staff during his booking into the Brown County Jail.  Brown was then charged with burglary of a vehicle.

As Brown was searched in the jail, a joint of marijuana was found in his pockets, the report states.  Brown was additionally charged with possession of marijuana.

Monday, May 13th

*10:50 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Main Blvd regarding burglary.  According to the report, the maintenance man of the building arrived at approximately 9:00 a.m. and found the front door unlocked.  Officers searched the premise and were unable to locate anyone inside the building; however a broken window appeared to be the point of entry.

Tuesday, May 14th

*12:00 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of US Hwy 377S regarding harassment.

*9:28 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 18th Street regarding a runaway juvenile.

*10:58 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Avenue C regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a window of her vehicle was damaged in the overnight hours.

*1:21 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Songbird Circle regarding theft.

*2:25 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of N. Center Avenue regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his Jeep Grand Cherokee was struck by a red extended cab pickup which then left the scene without reporting the accident.

*6:06 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of 3rd Street regarding the burglary of a building.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her wallet had been stolen from inside her vehicle while she was at work.  The vehicle was left unattended and unlocked during the time that the wallet was stolen, the report states.

*8:29 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Clark and W. Depot Streets.  During the stop, both the driver and passenger were found to be in possession of marijuana, according to the report.  48-year-old Jimmy Winchester of West Tawakoni and 29-year-old Nolan Winchester of Quinlan, each were charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Amy Grady on a warrant for motion to adjudicate related to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.

Wednesday, May 15th

*12:55 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Santa Clara regarding a weapons offense.  According to the report, an unwanted subject was tackled after he refused to leave the residence.  The subject was later identified as 21-year-old Jonathon Gregory who was found to have on his person a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun with 10 rounds of ammunition with the weapon, according to the report.  After an investigation was conducted, Gregory, who was found to have a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon, the report states.
