Friday, May 11
*10:05am-Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood ISD Administration office regarding a found bicycle. According to the report the bicycle was not found to be stolen and was taken to the Brownwood Police department until it can be claimed.
*12:46pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant who stated that her wedding/engagement band ring set had been stolen. According to the report, it was described as being 14K gold with 15 clear stones, valued at $10,000.
*1:34pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Southside Drive regarding a report of a possible missing person.*2:00pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 4200 block of River Oaks Drive regarding a found wallet. Attempts to contact the owner of the wallet were made but were unsuccessful, the report states. The wallet was taken and secured in the property room at the Brownwood Police Department, according to the report.
*3:40pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 150 block of Terrace Drive regarding the theft of a bicycle belonging to the complainant’s son. According to the report, a suspect was named.
*4:19pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Commerce regarding an intoxicated male. According to the report, the complainant stated that a male subject was harassing her at her vehicle and was screaming at her. This call led to the arrest of 45-year-old Ronnie Patterson for Public Intoxication with Three Prior Convictions.
*4:20pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraudulent use of identifying information, or possible identity theft. According to the report, the complainant received a call from a collection agency regarding an electric account with TXU. The complainant believes that the person who lives in the house where the account was set up is friends with his wife and may have obtained his personal info to set up the account in his name.
*5:01pm-Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Avenue B regarding a sexual assault. Officers spoke with a woman who stated she was the victim of a sexual assault, the report states.
*7:33pm-Brownwood Police received a report of identity theft. According to the report, over $700 was stolen from the complainant’s bank account.
*9:24pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Dollar General Store, 315 E. Commerce, regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, a vehicle had been hit in the parking lot and no information was left by a suspect.
*Bangs Police arrested 32-year-old Charles Bell for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 less than 1 gram in a Drug Free Zone; Prohibited Weapon in a Weapons Free Zone and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
*Brownwood Police arrested 33-year-old Robert Lee Powell, Jr. for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. and two outstanding warrants.
Saturday, May 12
*12:29am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that she had returned home to find her front door kicked in. The complainant stated that she had reason to believe that her ex-boyfriend is the suspect and she did not wish to pursue criminal charges against him at this time, the report states.
*12:32am-Brownwood Police were called to the 3600 block of Arrowhead Drive regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend assaulted her two days ago at the Savoy Apartments on Savoy Drive.
*2:00am-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a man at a car lot along Hwy 279 after hours. Upon speaking with the subject, identified as 43-year-old Paul Keith Walker, the deputy observed him to be nervous and that he had no legitimate reason for being at the closed business, the report states. Investigation determined that Walker had stolen a battery and a radio from vehicles on the lot. Walker was subsequently arrested for Burglary of a Vehicle.
*4:20am-A Brownwood Police officer was patrolling in the area of Main Blvd and Poplar Streets when she observed two vehicles traveling side by side at an increasing rate of speed. According to the report, a stop was made on one vehicle with the driver identified as 18-year-old Marcus Alton Phillips. While on this stop, the other vehicle could still be heard by the officer who radioed for another unit which located the second vehicle and identified its driver as 18-year-old Justin Thomas Moore. Both Moore and Phillips were arrested for Racing on Highway.
*10:08am-Brownwood Police responded to the 800 block of Malone Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.
*11:47am-Brown County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a location in Blanket regarding animal cruelty. According to the report, a young mare at the location appeared to be malnourished. According to the report, the owner stated that he had just bought the mare and was attempting to nurse her back to good health. The owner was given notice that a deputy would have a follow-up visit with him to see that the mare’s condition improves.
*11:53am-Brownwood Police were on assignment in the 3500 block of US Hwy 377S. This call led to a citation being issued to an employee who works at Handy Tobacco for Sale of Tobacco Products to a Minor.
*1:54pm-Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the Law Enforcement regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that her 14K yellow gold ring, valued at approximately $1200.00 was stolen.
*9:42pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle on C. C. Woodson Road due to display of multiple registrations. According to the report, the driver seemed nervous and was visibly trembling when speaking with the deputy. Consent to search the vehicle was granted and 11.9 grams of marijuana along with a clear glass jar containing marijuana residue from partial cigarettes, a marijuana grinder and a marijuana pipe were found inside the vehicle, the report states. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Joseph Seth Jones of Early, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 ounces in a Drug Free Zone
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested John Henry Torrez for Theft of Services $500-$1500.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 27-year-old Shelby Lee Webb for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
Sunday, May 13
*12:15am-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Baker Street regarding a verbal argument and possible domestic disturbance. According to the report, a male identified as Robert Lee Powell was at the scene and determined to have outstanding City of Brownwood warrants and was subsequently arrested. During a search of Powell’s person, a clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was located and Powell was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz, the report states.
*12:41pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Main Blvd regarding a female who had been bitten by a dog. According to the report, the owner stated that the dog was current on its shots; however the case will be forwarded to the animal control officer.
*1:42pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal mischief. According to the report, someone damaged the rear windshield wiper and the passenger mirror on his vehicle.
*5:52pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, a named suspect was seen concealing a bottle of nail polish, valued at $3.39, in her purse. The complainant did wish to pursue criminal charges and a citation along with a criminal trespass warning was issued to the female.
*6:29pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Avenue C regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant named a suspect who allegedly damaged the right front door and window of the complainant’s vehicle. Damage was estimated at $800 to repair, the report states. One witness was identified and criminal charges are being pursued by the complainant.
*7:38pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Pecos Street regarding an assault. According to the report, a juvenile complainant stated that a suspect had assaulted him and tried to steal his belt while he was at Coggin Park.
*8:20pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Main Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle was damaged sometime during the hours of 1:00am and 11:30am the same date. At the time of the report, no suspect information was available.
*8:32pm-Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding an animal bite.
*9:23pm-Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Cindy Cove regarding an assault. According to the report, a third party called police to report an assault. The victim of the assault would not cooperate and told the officer that he needed to leave the residence.
*9:45pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the victim stated that her boyfriend had hit her in the head with a beer can.
*9:59pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding a civil matter. According to the report, the complainant stated that his sister has been starting rumors about him with fellow Wal-Mart employees as well as hitting him in the back of the head with a water bottle.
*10:22pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of 1st Street regarding terroristic threat. According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter’s ex-boyfriend has been threatening to assault her and has been following her.
*11:47pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of Crestridge Drive regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that her brother assaulted her while at her mother’s house.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 33-year-old Jim Ed Liner for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Patricia Marie Rhodes for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 2-A less than 2 oz.
Monday, May 14
*12:37am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Avenue G regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant has been receiving prank text message from an unknown number since approximately 11:00pm the night before.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
