Friday, May 9
*9:14 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Borden Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had damaged both of his driver’s side tires and stolen his wallet from inside his pickup. The complainant wished to pursue charges.
*10:28 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a residence regarding an alleged sexual assault. According to the report, the victim stated that a known suspect had sexually assaulted her. The incident is under investigation, the report states.
*4:17 PM – Brownwood Police met a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding an assault. According to the report, a male complainant stated that while he was at work at McCoy’s, another employee came up behind him, grabbed his arm and then slapped him in the side of the head. The complainant stated that the slap was extremely hard and he temporarily lost the ability to hear in that ear, the report states.
*6:35 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant behind the Brownwood Alternative High School regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant stated that her husband was harassing her by phone.*7:31 PM – Brownwood police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding domestic disturbance. According to the report, information was received third party about an assault involving strangulation. The incident is under investigation, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a property on County Road 418 regarding a theft of metal which was in progress. According to the report, the deputies spoke with witnesses and as a result, arrested 38-year-old Joseph Anthony Cooley of Brownwood, 33-year-old Jennifer Leigh Cooley of Brownwood and 21-year-old Joseph Matthew Silva of Cisco for class B theft. Jennifer Cooley and Joseph Cooley were also charged with criminal trespass of property.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Jeremy David Drake of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brownwood Police arrested 32-year-old Julian Gomez, Jr. of Brownwood for aggravated assault of date/family/house member with weapon.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Alexis Jackson of Red Oak on a surety withdrawal related to theft.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 31-year-old Jason Edward Lowe of Brownwood on a Taylor County warrant related to debit card abuse. Lowe was being held in the Brown County Jail on $25,000 bond as of Monday morning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Robert Lee Powell, Jr. of Brownwood on a warrant related to motion to revoke/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Bangs Police arrested 28-year-old Antonio Rioz of Lubbock for driving while license invalid and on an Andrews County warrant for failure to appear/bail jumping surety bond.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Leila Nicole Schulze of Brownwood on a warrant related to surety withdrawal/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Monica Janitte Segovia of Georgetown on a warrant related to failure to appear/burglary of a habitation and theft of a firearm. Segovia was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bond.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Brandon David Smith of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams and prohibited weapon knuckles. Smith was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $38,000.
*Brownwood Police arrested 25-year-old Monica Nicole Smith of Brownwood for criminal trespass.
Saturday, May 10
*1:29 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3600 block of South US Hwy 377 regarding suspicious activity, due to burglaries in the area. According to the report, because of the suspect’s suspicious behavior, an attempt was made to search the suspect for weapons for officer safety and he pulled away from officers and resisted the search. 24-year-old Anthony Dean Heft of Brownwood was charged for resisting arrest.
*2:20 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding a disorderly conduct call. As a result, 23-year-old Jimmy Lee Hallum of Brownwood was arrested for disorderly conduct breach of the peace. Hallum was making unreasonable noise and refused to be quiet.
*7:52 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Phillips Drive regarding a motor vehicle accident. According to the report, one of the vehicles was on its side. The responding officer found that a female driver had struck a parked car, the report states. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Amy Rochelle Cecil of Brownwood, failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to the report.
*3:12 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, the store’s asset protection employees observed the suspect, 21-year-old Ila Nichole Riggs of May, attempting to leave the store without paying for merchandise. During the investigation, it was discovered that Riggs had been previously issued a criminal trespass warning for that address, the report states. Riggs was arrested for criminal trespassing and was issued a citation for theft less than $50.
*6:44 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, loss prevention employees had two subjects detained for theft. The 18-year-old and 19-year-old suspects were issued citations for theft less than $50 and released.
*Brownwood Police arrested 34-year-old Ryan Joseph Corl of Austin on a warrant related to failure to appear/burglary of a building. Corl was being held in the Brown County Jail on $22,000 bond as of Monday morning.
Sunday, May 11
*7:11 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant wished to pursue criminal charges against a female suspect for assault.
*7:24 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 3rd Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend/roommate at her residence. The incident is under investigation, the report states.
*10:24 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Avenue B regarding a male subject with drugs. This call led to the arrest of 65-year-old Jesse De-Leon Basquez of Brownwood for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces after Basquez admitted that the marijuana belonged to him, the report states.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 235 regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant reported several sections of sucker rod, drill pipe and two hay fords had been stolen from his address sometime during the months of March or April.
Monday, May 12
*12:25 AM – While on patrol, a Brownwood Police officer observed a small black passenger car pull into the parking lot of a closed business in the 3600 block of Stephen F. Austin. According to the report, upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, a subsequent investigation was begun with several items of drug paraphernalia being located inside the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were cited and released, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Alonzo Gutierrez of Abilene on warrants related to driving while license invalid and failure to appear/class C offense.
*A Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden arrested 27-year-old Christopher Ray Cooley of Cisco for boating while intoxicated 2nd.
