Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

Monday, April 30

*11:31am – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at a residence on Alpine Court where they received a report of an assault that had occurred at Brownwood Middle School earlier in the day.

*1:15pm-Brownwood Police checked put a suspicious vehicle in the 1500 block of Indian Creek and found a prohibited knife in the car. According to the report, the driver had borrowed the car and would rather have the knife disposed of than having it in the car while he was driving it. The knife was logged into the BPD evidence room, the report states.

*4:13pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 Avenue M regarding found property. According to the report, the complainant stated she found a “crack pipe.” The pipe was taken and secured into the Brownwood Police Department’s property room.

*5:55pm-Brownwood Police were called to the Law Enforcement center regarding identity theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a  previous tenant had opened an electric account using her information sometime between 2009-2010.

*6:28pm-Brownwood Police responded to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an animal bite. According to the report, a 6-year-old male was playing at a friend’s house when their dog attacked him causing injuries. Follow-up at the residence provided additional information about the incident an animal control was call to assist.

*7:08pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, an employee attempted to detain a male and female for shoplifting. The pair got away in a Ford pick-up, but later located at their residence in Early, police indicate. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges as it was unknown what was taken; however, she did request a criminal trespass warning be issued to the couple, which was at the time they were located, the report states.

*7:13pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Indian Creek. According to the report, the complainant’s daughter had broken into her home. It was unknown what items were taken at the time of the report and the suspect was not able to be located, the report states. The investigation continues.

*7:55pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding a possible sexual assault; however an investigation determined that the incident was consensual.

*8:36pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Avenue C in reference to a report of a male subject trying to force a small female into a vehicle. According to the report, an investigation determined that it was the juvenile’s father who was trying to force her into an SUV after an argument. The father left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival but was identified, police indicated. There was minor injury sustained by the juvenile, the report states.

*11:48pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center regarding an alleged sexual assault which was reported to have happened at a home on Wagon Wheel Lane. According to the report, the employee of a rehabilitation service reported the alleged assault. Little information was available at the time of the report; however Adult Protect services and Brownwood Police are continuing an investigation.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a local convenience store, where the clerk reported found property. According to the report, an employee of the store found a plastic bag of marijuana in the parking lot of the convenience store. The baggie, which weighed approximately 3 grams, was given to the deputy and taken to BCSO for destruction.

Tuesday, May 1

*2:03am-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop for a defective license plate lamp. This stop led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 25-year-old Dakota Jim Coffee, for Driving While Intoxicated.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
