Monday, April 7
*12:34 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant who reported the theft of a debit card from Buffalo Wild Wings. According to the report, surveillance video was reviewed and a suspect was able to be identified and interviewed. Items purchased with the stolen debit card at a local retail store were recovered, the report states.
*1:43 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of 8th Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the caller stated that his neighbor’s door had been kicked in and that muddy footprints were left behind. A 32-inch flat screen television had been stolen from the living room of the residence, the report states. The owner was not present at the time of the report, but was contacted by police regarding the burglary, according to the report.
*2:01 PM – Brownwood Police spoke with adult protective services by phone regarding an exploitation case of a male subject who was the victim of theft in the amount of $1800.
Tuesday, April 8
*4:56 AM – Brownwood Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1300 block of Brooks Avenue. According to the report, the 19-year-old driver had apparently fallen asleep and struck a tree, damaging the right front quarter panel of the vehicle. The driver was not injured and the vehicle was towed from the scene, the report states.
*7:49 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Middle School regarding the assault of a student as well as a teacher by another student. According to the report, an investigation confirmed the assault and the juvenile was taken to the Brownwood Police Department for processing and then released to the Juvenile Detention Center staff.*10:52 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of the burglary of a habitation via telephone. According to the report, a gun cabinet valued at $1500 was stolen from the complainant’s home while she was moving to Abilene.
*11:29 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, a male subject had stolen a pair of sunglasses and candy from the store. A suspect and suspect vehicle description was given by store employees; however, the male had left in a vehicle prior to officer’s arrival.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Terry Sliter conducted a warrant service at a residence on Lover’s Lane near Lake Brownwood. According to the report, as Levi Potter came to the door and exited the house Deputy Sliter noted a strong odor of marijuana on Potter and coming from the residence. After an investigation, a total of 15 grams of marijuana was located in the house that Potter lives in and Potter was arrested, charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces along with warrants related to two counts of violate promise to appear, two counts of driving while license invalid and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
*48-year-old Stephanie Miller of Brownwood turned herself in on a Hemphill County warrant related to motion to adjudicate/theft of property greater than $20,000 less than $100,000.
Wednesday, April 9
*12:09 AM – Brownwood police were called to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding an assault. According to the report, the victim stated that an unknown female subject assaulted her. The victim’s sister however, stated that a relative had assaulted the victim and a report was made for assault causes bodily injury family violence, according to police.
