Thursday, April 4

*11:00 AM – Brownwood Police took a report regarding fraud.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had used his wife’s name, date of birth and social security number and attempted to get a loan from Lowermybills.com.  The transaction was stopped before it could be processed, the report states.

Friday, April 5

*10:36 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Whaley Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the victim advised the officer that an unknown suspect had entered the residence without consent and took a black Samsung refrigerator valued at $700.

*11:27 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Memorial Park Drive regarding the exploitation of an elderly person.  According to the report, an Adult Protective Services and BPD are investigating the incident and a suspect has been named.

*12:40 PM – Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, a shoplifting suspect, identified as 22-year-old Michael David Peters of Bangs, was in custody upon the officer’s arrival.  According to the report, Peters was apprehended after leaving the store with over $164 worth of stolen merchandise and was subsequently charged with theft greater than $50 and less than $500 with a previous conviction.

*2:08 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 401 W. Commerce, regarding theft.  According to the report, loss prevention officers informed the responding BPD officer that a male, identified as 21-year-old Demory Ardel Wilson, Jr., and a female, identified as 18-year-old Ashley Nicole Harris of Early, were being detained for shoplifting $90.56 of merchandise.  Both Wilson and Harris were arrested and charged with theft of property greater than $50 and less than $500.

*5:05 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant’s vehicle had been struck while parked in the 300 block of E. Commerce.  The driver of the other vehicle failed to notify the complainant and did not contact the police regarding the accident, the report states.  The incident is believed to have occurred around 2:30 PM on this date.

*7:28 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Cleburne Street regarding terroristic threat.  According to the report, the victim stated that her boyfriend made a verbal threat via phone to kill the victim and her friend.  Contact was made with the boyfriend who denied the accusations, the report states.

*8:09 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Austin Avenue.  According to the report,  a male subject was leaving the convenience store and told the officer, while on the traffic stop, that the clerk inside needed the officer’s help with an intoxicated female.  The officer went into the store and then located the female, identified as 25-year-old Kelcey Sparks, inside of a vehicle, the report states.  After investigation, Sparks was arrested for driving while intoxicated-open container.

*8:36 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the complainant found that her vehicle had been damaged while parked at the Family Dollar store where she had been shopping.

*9:15 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Miller Drive regarding an unwanted female at a local nursing facility.  According to the report, a trespass warning was issued to the female subject.

*10:13 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, a male subject had been assaulted in an apartment at the above location.  The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival, the report states.

*10:43 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Avenue E regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that two of his old friends had spray painted graffiti on the back wall of their rented storage building and had spray painted several other buildings downtown and near their residence.  No arrest had been made at the time of the report.

*The Brownwood city marshal arrested 23-year-old Michael Beard on a warrant related to speeding 10% or more in a 45 mph zone.

*Brownwood Police arrested 46-year-old John Peter Calvert, Jr. for public intoxication.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Michael Holland for sex offender’s duty to register life/annual.

*The Brownwood city marshal arrested 22-year-old Roseanne Ortega for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

*Early Police arrested 31-year-old Janetta Rivers on three warrants for her arrest related to violate promise to appear, no seat belt, and no driver’s license.

Saturday, April 6

*3:55 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, a woman answered the door when officers arrived and a male subject, identified as 18-year-old Brandon Monroe, was seen trying to hide something while officers attempted to make contact.  The woman gave officers permission to search the bedroom where Monroe was seen trying to hide something , and officers found a toilet paper roll with aluminum foil over the top of it, the report states.  Monroe was asked if that was what he was hiding and he replied that it was and that he did it because he did not want to go back to jail, according to the report.  After the investigation was complete, Monroe was placed under arrest for assault offensive touch and tampering with evidence, the report states.

*8:51 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of N. Fisk Avenue regarding the theft of a purse containing a driver’s license, debit and credit cards.

*5:18 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart, 401 W. Commerce, regarding theft.  According to the report, a complainant stated that a male subject took a lady’s wallet from her shopping cart and fled the store.  No arrest had been made at the time of the report.

*7:26 PM – Brownwood Police responded to an assault in the 2100 block of Avenue D.  According to the report, officers were dispatched regarding an unresponsive male that was reported to be lying on the ground.  When officers arrived, the male subject was found to be lying in the roadway near the curbing, the report states.  The male would give only limited information, that he had been stabbed and kicked; however, he refused to identify the suspects’ names nor did he wish to press charges, according to law enforcement.  His injuries were reported to be minor, according to police.

*11:37 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Brooks Street regarding a missing person.  According to the report, the missing person had returned; however upon further investigation it was revealed that the complainant had a digital recording device stolen from his residence.  A suspect was identified, the report states.  It was also revealed that the subject that had gone missing had scratched the complainant and that the complainant had spit on and threatened the subject that had gone missing, the report states.  Neither party wished to pursue charges and the two subjects were separated for the night, according to the report.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 48-year-old Travis Don Bankhead of Bangs for driving while intoxicated 2nd and on two outstanding warrants for his arrest related to violate promise to appear and driving while license invalid.

*Brownwood Police arrested 46-year-old Mark Bolig on a warrant for his arrest related to probation revocation for nonsupport.

*Early Police arrested 21-year-old Thomas Camacho on a Uvalde County warrant related to possession of a controlled substance.

Sunday, April 7

*5:16 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Magnolia Street regarding a burglary.  According to the report, the victims stated that a male subject entered their apartment after breaking a window at the residence.

*3:20 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of W. Anderson regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, graffiti was noted on the south side of the building.

*3:59 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Good Shepherd Drive.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 4200 block of Shawnee Drive regarding an assault.  According to the report, a female had gone to the residence to confront a male subject regarding his allegedly making derogatory remarks about her.  The homeowner told both the male and female to leave his property and they met in the street where the argument escalated and the male, later identified as John Mitchell, threw the woman to the ground, according to the report.  Mitchell was arrested for assault causing bodily injury.

*8:45 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 10th Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 17-year-old Aaron Chase Pinkard for assault with injury family violence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Benjamin Chism of Rocksprings, Texas for making alcohol available to a minor.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Samuel R. Garcia, Jr. of May for making alcohol available to a minor.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old Hector Sanchez of Brady on three warrants for his arrest related to display expired license plate, violate promise to appear and tail lamp violation.
