LECSmBrownwood Police were called to a Brownwood residence regarding a stabbing and reports of a man with a gun, which resulted in the arrest of a Comanche man Saturday night.

According to police, at approximately 8:14 PM, a game of beer pong resulted in a fight in the alleyway behind a home and eventual stabbing of a few people present at the residence in the 1300 block of Avenue A.  Officers responding interviewed witnesses on scene, most of which were “heavily intoxicated,” stated law enforcement.

According to witnesses on scene, after one man became upset that he had lost the game of beer pong, he became involved in a physical altercation with three other males.  The fight was temporarily broken up and then continued at a residence two houses down the road.

Through multiple interviews with parties involved, it was determined that the men continued to “talk trash” and one man allegedly came out of the neighboring home waiving a gun.

This altercation escalated and one of the men involved in this second part of the fight told police that he saw a man identified as Erik Saxton allegedly pull a knife from his pocket and stabbed another man twice, once in the abdomen and once in the leg.   This male victim was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room for treatment of the stab wound that was reported to be deep enough to allow his bowels to protrude from the wound, the report states.

As the fight at the neighboring house developed, a woman attempted to break up the fight and was also cut, the report states.  According to Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller, the woman was “slashed by the knife” and had been taken to the ER where she received several stitches to close the wound on her leg.

Two of the men who had been involved in the alley fight had suffered injuries as well.  One appeared to have a gash on the left side of his nose in the bridge area; the other stated that he believed his shoulder was dislocated.  These two men were additionally transported to the emergency room by Guardian EMS for treatment.

The gun was determined to be a pellet gun and the knife used in the stabbings was not able to be located, the report states.

According to police, 32-year-old Erik Fabian Saxton of Comanche was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond as of Monday morning.
