LECSmA Brownwood man was arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a local car lot which had been repossessed three days prior to the incident, according to Brownwood Police.

At approximately 8:48 a.m. Monday, police were called to the Car Corral, located at 1200 Coggin Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle.  According to the manager of the business, a black 2012 Nissan Altima had been taken from the property after it had been repossessed on April 3rd.

Harper’s Towing had brought the Altima to the Car Corral after repossessing the vehicle from a property on Dartmore Street, according to police.  The female owner had signed a statement legally turning over the vehicle to the business at about 6:00 p.m. on April 3rd, according to the report.  James Flowers was named as the suspect in the theft, the report states.  The vehicle had been parked by the back fence of the property, which appeared to have been cut by the suspect and where the vehicle was driven out of the lot, the report states.  The suspect tied the fence back into place after taking the vehicle from the lot, according to police.

As a result of this call, 31-year-old James Edward Flowers, Jr. was later arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
