Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, April 5, 2013.
Wednesday, April 3
*10:24 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Main Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, a TxDOT employee reported graffiti painted on both the Truman Harlow and Bill Monroe overpasses. According to the report, the word “LAAMAPOLA” had been painted on the inside wall of the Truman Harlow overpass and “J.W. & A. C.” had been spray painted on the outside lower entrance section of the Bill Monroe overpass. According to the TxDOT employee, the cleanup of the damage would cost approximately $5000 and TxDOT wished to pursue charges for the damage. No suspect information or time of the damage was known at the time of the report.
*12:12 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of N. Main Blvd. regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that the mother of his child physically assaulted him after a verbal argument.
*12:41 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 14th Street regarding a computer security breach. According to the report, the complainant told officers that someone has been attempting to log onto the complainant’s computer system the past several days without authorization. A search of IP addresses of the attempted breaches indicated that the suspects were using IP addresses from the United States, Argentina and other locations, the report states. The suspects have been unsuccessful in gaining access to the complainant’s computer files; however contact with the Internet provider and an IT contractor is being made to assist with additional computer security measures, according to law enforcement.*12:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3000 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft of property. According to the report, the complainant stated that his sister would not return his personal property and that he wished to pursue criminal charges against his sister.
*3:04 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Southside Drive regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, between the hours of 10:15 AM and 1:05 PM on said date, an unknown subject damaged the vehicle. Scratch marks were observed on the rear of the vehicle that were consistent with key marks, damage estimated at $1200, the report states.
*3:55 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside regarding credit/debit card abuse. According to the report, the complainant stated that her debit card was stolen and used to make an unauthorized withdrawal of $200 on February 18th.
*3:56 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Main Street, Kroger, regarding theft. According to the report, store management advised that a known male suspect had been caught stealing a case of beer from the store. The male was issued a citation for theft less than $50 and issued a trespass warning for the Kroger property.
Thursday, April 4
*11:10 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Custer Road regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, a large metal roll up door had been damaged in an attempt to break into the building.
*4:29PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Monterrey Street regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime in the last week, her ceramic lawn jockey, valued at approximately $50, was stolen.
*4:52 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of US Hwy 377S regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that he and his mother’s boyfriend had gotten into an altercation.
*11:41 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Crockett Drive, Brownwood Regional Medical Center, regarding a suspicious call. According to the report, an intoxicated male was on scene causing a disturbance. This call led to the arrest of 46-year-old John Peter Calvert, Jr. for public intoxication, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Damian Lee Estrada on 6 warrants for his arrest including failure to appear related to engage in organized criminal activity, 3 counts FTA possession of marijuana, FTA Failure to Identify Felon, and FTA theft.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Jerry Doyle Marney on a warrant for failure to appear related to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Joshua David Wayne McDaniel on a warrant for motion to revoke related to assault.
Friday, April 5
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Billy Lafayette Berkley of San Saba for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated 2nd.
