Monday, April 1

*1:21 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Middle School regarding an outcry of child abuse.  After an investigation into the allegations, it was determined that the abuse occurred at a residence in Brownwood.  Child Protective Services were notified of the allegations against the child’s mother and investigation.

Wednesday, April 3

*8:56 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of 4th Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, between 6:30 PM on April 2nd and 7:50 AM on April 3rd, the complainant’s vehicle had been damaged on the left rear quarter panel.

*9:23 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence on FM 1849 regarding a burglary of the habitation.  According to the report, the door of the residence was forced open and approximately $1200 worth of items was stolen from the property.  A suspect has been named; however no arrest had been made at the time of the report according to law enforcement.

*11:20 AM – Brownwood Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 2200 block of Dartmore Street.  According to the report, the suspect came to the residence to ask his ex-girlfriend for a visit with the child they share.  After agreeing to let him in to see the child, the man became angry with the victim and took her cell phone and blue healer puppy, threatening he would “feed the puppy to his pit bulldogs,” the report states.  The suspect left taking the phone with him and later returned to the residence after searching through text messages.  He became enraged, chasing the victim through the house, pulling her hair, physically striking her and at one point slamming her head in the door of the house as she tried to escape, according to the police report.  The victim’s roommate came home during the assault and picked up the child, the report states, as the victim yelled for her to call police.  Knowing that police would soon be there, the suspect left the residence before officers’ arrival, said law enforcement officials.  It was also discovered that before he left, the suspect used a rock to break the driver’s side front window as well as the front windshield of the victim’s vehicle, the report states.  No arrest had been made at the time of the report; however, the incident is being investigated.

*4:18 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3800 block of Crestridge Drive regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject had stolen a metal turtle lawn ornament from the front yard of the residence.

*6:57 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Oakland Drive regarding theft of a dog.  According to the report, a black and brown miniature Shiatsu dog was stolen from their driveway sometime between the hours of 5:45 and 6:00 PM this date.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal trespass.  According to the report, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Gobbler Hollow regarding the complainant catching juveniles driving 4 x 4 vehicles on his private road and on his property causing damage to the property by driving in the mud.

*29-year-old Leann Viola Curtis of Mullin was arrested by Bell County Sheriff’s Office regarding two outstanding warrants for her arrest regarding failure to appear related to driving while license invalid (Brown County) and motion to revoke regarding false alarm ( Lampasas County).  Curtis is currently being held in the Brown County Jail.

*38-year-old Benito Cruz Garza turned himself in on two warrants related to fraud and forgery.

*56-year-old Terry Diann Whisenhunt of Mullin turned herself in on a warrant for her arrest related to driving while license invalid.
