Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, April 4th.
Tuesday, March 29
*9:45am-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at Brownwood Police Department regarding theft. The complainant reported that one bottle containing 90 Xanax and a Visa debit card had been stolen out of her purse while she shopped at a local store.
*4:45pm-Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run accident in the 400 block of Main Street. According to the report, the complainant did wish to pursue charges if the suspect could be found. The complainant’s vehicle was damaged on the right back quarter panel the report states.
Friday, April 1
*3:57pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of 4th Street regarding a theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a car stereo and an amp had been stolen by an ex-spouse. The complainant did wish to pursue charges the report states.
*4:00pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding credit card abuse. According to the report, the complainant stated that she believed that her step-daughter had stolen her debit card and was using it to make purchases without permission.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Heather Marie Bentley and 28-year-old Jared Benjamin Smith, each were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Grade 1, less than 1g in a Drug Free Zone.
* Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Joe Campos and 24-year-old Tony Renea Horry both of Bangs, each were charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.
Saturday, April 2
*1:15am-Brownwood police officer observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign according to police reports. When the officer identified the driver, 27-year-old Michael John Zarate, dispatch advised that Zarate had a suspended driver’s license and had three prior convictions for Driving While License Invalid the report states. Zarate was placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid with 3 prior convictions.
*9:16am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue, Brookshire’s, regarding theft. According to the report, four juveniles were caught attempting to steal food. Criminal trespass warnings were issued upon the request of management.
*5:35pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of 4th Street regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that a co-worker had assaulted her on April 1st. The complainant did wish to pursue charges against the suspect the report states.
*6:32pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3100 block of Avenue C regarding a possible kidnapping. While investigating the incident, the complainant’s sister-in-law arrived on scene and advised officers that she had been threatened by a known suspect the report states. A report was filed for terroristic threat.
*8:00pm-Brownwood Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 301 N. Main Street. After investigation, 55-year-old Charles Wesley Mason of Early, who was involved in the accident, was taken into custody the report states. Mason was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, 1st, and taken for a blood specimen and charges are pending lab results according to police reports.
*8:57pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Coggin Park regarding a report that someone had sprayed the women’s restroom with pepper spray. No charges were filed against the suspect who was identified.
*9:35pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1800 block of Vine regarding a hit and run. The complainant stated that someone had run over their mailbox.
Sunday, April 3
*3:28am-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding a possible theft. Two subjects were identified and issued criminal trespass warnings per management request the report states.
*7:28pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Edwards Street regarding a burglary. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had broken into his residence and stolen multiple items.
*10:27pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1100 block of Vincent regarding a loud noise complaint. The reporting party stated that neighbors had been partying all weekend, playing loud music the report states. The reporting party also told police that she had young children that needed to get some sleep before school Monday morning. According to the report, the subjects, after much encouragement and the officer’s presence, did turn off the music and go inside their residence where the cussing ended.
*Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Main Street and Gill Street. During the traffic stop, the officer was able to smell an odor of burnt marijuana coming from the passenger side of the vehicle and performed a search according to the report. According to the report, the search yielded two marijuana grinders and a marijuana pipe. The driver was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 30-year-old Ivan Ibarra Guajardo for Driving While Intoxicated.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
