Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday & Thursday, April 27-28, 2011.

Monday, April 25

*7:55am-Brownwood Police officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 2100 block of Slayden.  The reporting party stated that he and his wife had been in a verbal argument.  Officers were informed that there had been violence between both husband and wife; however neither wished to pursue criminal charges against the other.  Both subjects were given family violence forms.

*1:26pm-Brownwood Police responded to 1600 Calvert Drive, Brownwood Middle School, where a student was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct after shouting profane language at teachers while in school.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to investigate a burglary of a habitation.  The owner and complainant stated that he had been gone from the house for a few days and returned to find his front door had been forced open and several things had been taken from the property including a Playstation 3, DVDs, brass pipe fittings (valued at $50 each) and an old radiator that was in the yard.  A suspect has been named; however no arrests have been made.  The incident is under investigation.

Tuesday, April 26

*8:24am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated his bicycle had been stolen from his front porch.  At the time of the report, there were no known suspects.  The complainant does wish to pursue charges if a suspect is identified.

*9:50am-Brownwood Police were called to the Family Services Center located at 901 Avenue B regarding a possible assault.  The officer spoke with a staff member who stated one of her GED students came to class with a large bite mark on her face.  The staff member said when she asked the student about the bite, she stated that her mother had bit her.  Contact was made with the student who informed the officer that there was no assault.  The student stated that her mother left a hickey on her face when they were play boxing.  No criminal charges were filed only an informational report.

*2:58pm-Brownwood Police officers arrested Savannah Cox on an outstanding warrant and for Possession of a Dangerous Drug following a traffic stop at the intersection of Avenue I and Southside Drive.  Officers seized a pill bottle that contained 22 Clinamycin pills that were not prescribed to Cox, according to police reports.

*9:44pm-Brownwood Police responded to a possible domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Avenue C.  According to the report, neighbors heard a couple fighting and felt officers needed to check the situation.  When officers arrived, a male answered the door and told them “everything was fine that the couple was just arguing”.  An officer spoke to a female that was in the kitchen crying who also had scratches above her eye.  When asked how she got the scratches, police reports state that the woman replied, “He just beat the crap out of me.”  The investigation led to the arrest of 59-year-old Isaac Padilla for Assault with Injury Family Violence and an emergency protective order was requested by the victim for fear of retaliation from Padilla, reports state.

*10:21pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to CR 147 where a vehicle was reported to be parked in a driveway of a complainant and the driver seemed to be confused, according to reports.  The deputy arrived to find the vehicle was not running, its lights were off and a male was inside appearing to be sleeping in the vehicle.  The driver, identified as 27-year-old Cory Landon Ashley, was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication, according to reports.

Wednesday, April 27

*2:09pm-Brownwood Police initiated a pedestrian stop in the 200 block of E. Commerce after the officer saw a male subject throwing trash over the side of the bridge.  When speaking with the male, identified as Victor Rueda, it was determined that he was intoxicated police reports state.  Rueda was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication and Leave Refuse on Roadway (Litter).  During his transport, police reports state that Rueda began making threats to the officer and also was uncooperative with jail staff, having to be physically restrained until they could escort him to a holding cell.

Thursday, April 28

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Jack Herrin for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Grade 1 less than 1g; Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz; and Unlawful Carrying Weapon.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
