According to Brown County Sheriff’s Office, a Brownwood man was arrested Wednesday for the burglary of a home that occurred earlier in the month where jewelry was allegedly stolen.
According to BCSO investigator Vance Hill, on the afternoon of April 15th, a homeowner pulled up to their residence on FM 2525 to find 47-year-old Phillip Lemmons of Brownwood present under false pretenses. The complainant was acquainted with Lemmons from years past, said Hill. The following morning, the complainant noted approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry to be missing from a jewelry box, stated Hill.
An investigation led to evidence that Lemmons had later sold the jewelry in Brown and Taylor Counties, according to Hill. Lemmons was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation. He is currently being held at the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $50,000. The investigation is currently ongoing.
