Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

Monday, April 25

*8:40am-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding found property.  The reporting party had located a bicycle at the apartments that did not belong to any of the tenants the report states.  The bicycle was taken to the BPD impound for safekeeping until its owner can properly identify and claim it.

*10:40am-Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Intermediate School regarding a theft that had occurred.  The officer spoke with the complainant, a witness and the suspect.  According to the report, the suspect did admit to stealing a brass colored shot put valued at $130; however, he  told the officer that he did not know it’s current whereabouts.  The principal of the school stated that the school does wish to prosecute the student for the theft the report states.

*11:36am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Center Avenue, the Brownwood Manor Apartments, regarding a theft of medications.   According to police, the reporting party and Manor supervisor explained that the victim had reported the theft to them and that the reporting party contacted BPD.  Information was obtained from the victim and a report made.

*5:56pm- Brownwood Police were called to the1600 block of Melwood regarding a stolen bicycle.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*5:59pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Avenue B regarding a lost wallet that had been found but with some of the contents now missing.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she had lost her wallet while shopping in CVS on Austin Avenue.  The wallet was returned by an employee of the store; however, it was missing approximately $40 in cash and a debit card the report states.  The card was cancelled and two unknown juvenile suspects were identified as being seen going through the wallet before the CVS employee took it from them according to police reports.

*6:03pm-Dispatch gave possession to an officer of a ladies wallet that had been turned in at BPD.  The officer checked the wallet and found a driver’s license and a phone number.  When attempting to contact the owner of the wallet, the phone was out of service the report states.  The wallet was placed into evidence until the owner can claim it and its contents. 

*7:38pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Avenue B regarding a missing and possibly suicidal male.  According to police, the male was found and through an interview, the officer was told that he had no intention of hurting himself or killing himself; however, he was going through a breakup with his girlfriend and had wandered off to “collect his thoughts” without telling anyone where he was going.

*8:39pm-Brownwood Police responded to an animal complaint in the 900 block of Oak Park.  According to the report, the complainant reported that a large pit bull had attacked her and her dog.  The complainant and her dog were uninjured with no bruising, scrapes or bite marks the report states.  Medical treatment was refused by the complainant.  The officer spoke with the owner of the suspect dog and found that it was not a pit bull, but rather a brown terrier.  The owner stated that she would have her daughter walk the dog on a different route in the future as not to disturb the complainant.

*Bangs Police arrested 29-year-old Albert Manuel Zepeda for Driving While License Invalid.

Tuesday, April 26

*12:35am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Vincent regarding a domestic disturbance involving a male and a female.  An assault with injury family violence is being investigated according to the report.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51-year-old Georgia Trobaugh Strakos of Bangs for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
