Thursday, April 19
*9:30am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary of a habitation and theft of property which occurred at the complainant’s residence in Bangs, Texas. According to the report, the complainant located one of the stolen items, a weed eater, at a local pawn shop and the suspect who sold the item was identified; however no arrest had been made at the time of the report.
Friday, April 20
*8:20am-Brownwood Police received a report of a burglary of a vehicle in the 600 block of N. Fisk Avenue.
*9:20am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce, Commerce Square Optical, in reference to theft. According to the report, the complainant advised that he ordered some glasses frames from overseas and had wired money for the payment. When he did not receive the frames, he emailed the correspondent who told the victim that he had sent the wire to the wrong man and bank.
*12:02pm-Brownwood Police received a report of a juvenile student who was found to be in possession of tobacco while on the campus on April 19th. According to the report, after an investigation, the juvenile was issued a citation for Possession of Tobacco.
*12:30pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Penn Street regarding a runaway juvenile. Information obtained at the residence indicated that the juvenile had left approximately one week ago to stay with her boyfriend and has not returned. The juvenile was listed as a runaway and entered into the national database.
*6:28pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding an assault. According to the report, dispatch advised officers that a girl leaving the residence had hit the complainant over the head. According to the report, an argument over milk led to the assault. 20-year-old Sonia Rios was arrested for Assault, Injury to the Elderly.
*9:18pm-Brownwood made a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Avenue A. According to the report, investigation showed the driver, 30-year-old Monica Campos, to have a suspended driver’s license. Campos was placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid/Denied Renewal – Fail to Appear.
*9:24pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of 4th Street regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant advised that an unknown person had taken $350 from a container in his bedroom.
Saturday, April 21
*10:49am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that two deer feeders were missing from his property.
*12:06am-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 400 block of N. Fisk Avenue to investigate a criminal mischief report. According to the report, after speaking with witnesses at the location of the incident, 22-year-old Patrick Kelley Johnson was arrested for Criminal Mischief. He was also found to be intoxicated and additionally charged with Driving While Intoxicated Open Container, according to reports.
*2:31am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 13th Street regarding possible found narcotics. According to the report, the complainant stated that he found possible narcotics in his daughter’s bedroom. The narcotics were seized and taken for testing and further investigation, reports state. Police were again called to the residence at 10:42am when the father advised police that he believed his 14-year-old daughter had marijuana in her possession. Upon investigation, a usable amount of marijuana was located. The suspect was arrested and released to a juvenile probation officer.
*4:06pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Austin Avenue regarding a fight in progress. According to the report, both parties were separated upon the officer’s arrival. According to the report, the officer found no physical injuries on either subject; however one subject wanted to pursue charges.
*4:36pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to County Road 105 regarding the burglary of a building. According to the report, the complainant gave the deputy a list of items stolen, which appeared to be all metal in nature, mostly kitchen appliances, and had been taken from two buildings on the property. The value of the items totaled more than $2700, the report states. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*6:53pm-Brownwood Police came in contact with a missing juvenile the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue. According to the report, the juvenile was reported missing by her mother the night of April 20th. The juvenile was found to be in possession of cigarettes and was cited for Minor in Possession of Tobacco, the report states.
*9:41pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Belle Plain Street regarding a disorderly subject. After investigation, 27-year-old Heather Nichole Moore was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*10:00pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a pair of Nike tennis shoes, 4 Nintendo games and a Nintendo remote were taken from her room. The complainant stated that she believed three subjects that had recently stayed at the residence took the items, the report states.
*11:41pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Belle Plain Street. According to the report, the driver, 24-year-old Vincent Ruben Valencia of Burkett, showed to be intoxicated and had a suspended license. Valencia was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd and Driving While License Invalid and a search warrant was obtained for a blood specimen.
*Early Police Department arrested 28-year-old Justin McLennan of Dallas for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Conviction.
Sunday, April 22
*1:13am-Three Brownwood Police officers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of Main Street. According to the report, several people had been at Uncle Dave’s and returned to the apartment complex where an argument turned into a fight involving several people. Multiple victims stated that a male, identified as 32-year-old Sherrod Smith struck them with a metal pipe, reports state. Smith was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
*2:24am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 4th Street regarding an assault that occurred in the 1600 block of Main Avenue. According to the report, a squabble over a neighbor flirting with the wife of 39-year-old Onorio E. Hernandez turned violent when the victim and brother-in-law of Hernandez defended the neighbor stating that nothing had happened. At that time Hernandez allegedly pulled a knife on his brother-in-law, pointing it toward his neck, the report states. Hernandez eventually lowered the knife and allowed the victim to leave. The complainant and his sister left the scene and called to report the incident after they were safe at the victim’s home. After complainant the investigation and speaking to several witnesses, Hernandez was arrested for Aggravated Assault Family Member with a Deadly Weapon.
*2:37am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a citizens’ dispute at 2800 Southside Drive, Food Plaza. According to the report, the complainant advised that a female subject “took a swing at a male subject” and then left the scene in a black Cadillac.
*8:45am-Brownwood Police were called to Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an intoxicated female leaving the emergency room. According to the report, officers located the female, identified as 25-year-old Tabatha Jo Carrier, in the 200 block of Streckert Drive. Carrier was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*1:25pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Avenue I regarding a violation of a protective order. According to the report, the complainant’s ex-boyfriend, 28-year-old Salvador Uvalle did have an active protective order; he was located and arrested for Violation of Protective Order.
*3:55pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Austin Avenue for a civil standby. According to the report, the responding officer learned while speaking to one of the subjects that a burglary occurred at the residence either Friday night (4/20) or early Saturday morning (4/21). Although no arrest has been made, a suspect has been listed, the report states.
*6:45pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 400 block of 9th Street. According to the report, investigation showed the driver, 24-year-old Christina Marie Elliott of Wills Point, to have a suspended license. Elliott was arrested for Driving While License Invalid.
*8:19pm-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the Commerce Square parking lot regarding found property. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown person left a Sony Vaio computer and bag at his ex-wife’s residence. The computer was placed in the Brownwood Police Department property room for safe keeping until an owner can be identified.
*11:35pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 200 block of Cherry Street for a wide right turn and defective brake lamps. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The passenger, 40-year-old Thomas Ray Berry was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2.
*Early Police Department arrested 28-year-old Carrie Ann Bloomer for Driving While Intoxicated/Open Container.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 23-year-old Mario Castaneda of Abilene for Driving While License Invalid.
Monday, April 23
*3:44am-Brownwood Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of Booker. The female victim was found to have extensive bruising to both eyes, nose and mouth area. 23-year-old Pablo Valles, Jr. of Bangs was arrested and charged with Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.
*11:00am-According to Early Police Chief David Mercer, officers with the Early Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shandy Smith for burglary of a motor vehicle in connection with the multiple car burglaries that occurred on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Smith was arrested at a motel on East Commerce in Brownwood along with his girlfriend and mother, the report states. According to Mercer, the investigation will continue and more charges are expected to follow.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
