The Bangs Police Department is investigating a report of a stolen pickup and numerous other items from a business in Bangs over the weekend.
According to Bangs Chief of Police Troy Gruesendorf, sometime over the weekend, Tongate Services in Bangs was burglarized, and a large amount of inventory, equipment and personal items along with a company truck were stolen from the business. The truck is a white 2002 single cab 2500 Chevrolet with a service bed, license plate AE8 3097, according to the Brown County Independent.
Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call Bangs Police at 325-752-6673 or after hours and weekends call the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at 325-646-5510.
Because the investigation is underway, limited details were able to be released. As of Monday evening, no arrest had been made in connection with the burglary.

*5:23 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Irma regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a laptop computer and currency. The value of the stolen items was estimated at approximately $1400.
*8:13 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Austin Avenue regarding the burglary of the Common Grounds Coffee Shop. The police report states that the business was burglarized and criminal mischief was committed.
*11:21 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 401 W. Commerce, regarding the theft of a white gold or platinum ladies ring with three diamonds, valued at $2500.
*12:01 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, an individual was punching holes in the walls of an apartment at Woodland Crest Apartments. This call led to the arrest of 26-year-old Andrew Michael Regian for criminal mischief equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*12:45 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were conducting a welfare check at a residence at Belfast Drive. When they conducted a check for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, this led to finding the suspect being in possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces, according to the report. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Micheal Paul Forbess, was charged with five counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, and the outstanding warrant related to assault causes bodily injury family violence.
*2:50 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3000 block of E. Cottage regarding assist Child Protective Services (CPS). According to the report, the officer was advised that CPS workers had been informed of narcotics use in a residence they were investigating.
*3:03 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the theft of a wedding ring in the 1300 block of Avenue A.
*8:02 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Carnegie Street regarding a motorcycle that had broken down in the intersection of Carnegie and Baker Streets. According to the report, an investigation led to the arrest of the driver 25-year-old Jerry Douglas Allen, Jr. for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more.
*8:56 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the manager of the motel stated that some of her customers had damaged a window in a room during their stay and that the business wishes to pursue charges for the damage.
*11:10 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Fisk Avenue. According to the report, the driver, identified as 27-year-old Julien Stevens of Leesville, Louisiana, was found to be in possession of various medications. Stevens was arrested for two counts of possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams and one charge of possession of a dangerous drug.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen trash can. According to the report, the replacement value of the trash can is estimated between $100-200. The can was last seen on FM45 in front of the complainant’s home at about 6:15 PM on Friday, April 19th and 8:00 AM on Saturday, April 20th.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen 2005 Snapper riding lawn mower, valued at approximately $1000. According to the report, the mower was stored in a fenced area next to a storage building near the complainant’s residence.
*Brown County arrested 21-year-old Eric Dewayne Burns of Santa Anna for warrants related to possession of drug paraphernalia, minor in possession of alcohol, and violate promise to appear.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Kevin Ryan Cantu of Temple on an indictment for burglary of a habitation.
*Brownwood City Marshal arrested 45-year-old Danette Whiting Croft of Santa Anna on a warrant for driving while license invalid.
*19-year-old Justin Allen Jordy of Zephyr turned himself in on an indictment for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief.
*Brownwood City Marshal arrested 41-year-old Wanda Ann Lawhon Roe on two warrants related to no seatbelt and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
*Brownwood City Marshal arrested 23-year-old Gary Vimmer on a warrant related to theft.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Billy Kyle Vogel, Jr. of Bangs related to speeding.
Saturday, April 20
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Daniel Marcus Soliz of San Angelo on warrants for failure to appear related to possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Sunday, April 21
*1:52 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding a sexual assault. According to the report, the victim stated that she was sexually assaulted by a male subject after a party at an address in Brownwood. The suspect was located and an investigation started, the report states.
*2:01 AM – Brownwood Police responded to Wal-Mart, 401 W. Commerce regarding several subjects drinking alcohol in the parking lot. The call led to a traffic stop of a pickup for a moving violation, which resulted in the arrest of 19-year-old Christopher Scott Gilbert of Early for driving while intoxicated, the report states.
*12:56 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding a stolen window air conditioning unit. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject removed a window air conditioning unit from the downstairs window of her daughter’s apartment without the consent of the owner (Brownwood Housing Authority).
*7:00 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on County Road 551 regarding the accidental discharge of a firearm. According to the report, the reporting party stated that he had just installed a new scope on his rifle and was looking out the window from his bedroom when he accidentally fired the weapon toward a neighbor’s residence. The owner/victim of the damaged residence advised his home was hit by the projectile but declined to press charges and made an agreement with the calling party regarding the repair of the residence, the report states.
*9:17 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of 1st Street regarding a burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant stated that while he was out of town, his flat screen television was stolen from his residence. Two suspects were identified and the complainant stated that he would not pursue charges if the television was returned to him. The television was then returned to the complainant and the subjects were issued criminal trespass warnings for the address.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 17-year-old Andrew Nelson of Abilene for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 equal or greater than 4 grams and less than 400 grams and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brownwood Police arrested 23-year-old Kyle lee Pena on a warrant related to bail jumping and failure to appear.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 18-year-old DeShon Pratt of Abilene for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Tony Daryl Williams II of Abilene for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 47-year-old Melissa Dee Womack of Bangs on a warrant for motion to adjudicate related to theft.
Monday, April 22
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle for a defective license plate light in the 300 block of Early Blvd and identified the driver as 27-year-old Chais Andrew Robertson and passenger as 29-year-old Cynthia Alison Brooks, both of Bastrop. During the stop a consensual search was conducted which found a set of digital scales with white powdery residue which later tested positive for methamphetamine along with a baggie with trace amounts of the white powdery substance, according to the report. Both Robertson and Brooks were placed under arrest, each charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
