LECSmTwo women were arrested in connection with the burglary of an Early home on Wednesday according to the Early Police Department.

Police received a call of two women acting suspiciously in the 700 block of Longhorn Drive, according to EPD Chief David Mercer.  Officers responded to the location and began checking around a residence whose owner had recently become a resident of a nursing home, the report stated.

Officers heard a noise inside the residence but could not get anyone to respond and later located an unlocked door to gain access, the report states.  The officers identified themselves as they began checking the residence where the two females were found to be inside, hiding from officers, Mercer reported.

36-year-old Jennifer Rena Crow and 33-year-old Amy Teresa Platter, both of Brownwood, were taken into custody while the investigation continued.

Through their investigation, officers determined items from inside were being boxed up to be removed, according to Mercer.

The family of the home owner was located and confirmed that no one was supposed to be in the house, and that they did want to pursue charges, the report states.   Both Crow and Platter were placed under arrest for burglary of habitation.

The investigation is continuing and Mercer stated there is believed to be a third individual who is involved; however, they were not at the scene at the time of the arrests.
