*10:33 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3000 block of Avenue D regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the vehicle was burglarized while parked in a lot at this location.
*12:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 51-year-old Carol Ann Applegate of Brownwood for theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
*1:13 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 180 in Bangs regarding an animal cruelty complainant. After an investigation, the deputy determined that the offense of cruelty to non-livestock animals was being committed and a report was made.
*6:26 PM – Brownwood Police spoke to two males in the 1600 block of 3rd Street who had just witnessed an assault. According to the report, while speaking with one of the males, a small quantity of marijuana was located. Subsequently, 18-year-old Zachary Clark of Brownwood was arrested for the offense of possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*6:45 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 27-year-old Betti Leeann Hounshell and 29-year-old Jacob Dwayne Hounshell of Brownwood.*Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Ramirez made a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling US Hwy 84/183 for a traffic offense. According to the report, the occupants of the vehicle showed signs of nervousness. The driver gave consent to search the vehicle and prior to that search, passenger 36-year-old Adam Barreras surrendered 1.1 grams of marijuana. Barreras was subsequently arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a residence on County Road 151 regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant advised that approximately one roll of copper wire had been stolen from the property.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a scam. According to the report, the victim stated that he was contacted by telephone and told that he had won the “Clearinghouse Drawing” sponsored by Verizon and AT&T. The caller instructed the victim to pay fees prior to receiving his winnings and over a period of a week, a total of 6 payments were made totaling $2,285.00 with $41.69 in fees, and an additional $435.00 requested by Homeland Security, the report states. The payments were made using Green Dot Money Pak, MoneyGram and Western Union Money Transfers. The destination of the MoneyGram and Western Union transfers was Jamaica, according to the deputy’s report.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Enrique Garza, Jr. of Brownwood on a warrant related to burglary of a building.
*Brownwood Police arrested 17-year-old Elijah Ray Jones of Brownwood on warrants related to theft and failure to appear.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Joe Julian Martinez of Brownwood on a Tarrant County warrant related to continuous sexual abuse of a child.
*Brownwood Police arrested 25-year-old Stanley Moses Skinner of Brownwood on warrant related to a parole violation.
