Thursday, April 9

*9:56 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 4200 block of S. US Hwy 377 regarding theft.  According to the report, the investigation of a case of hindering a secured creditor was initiated.

Friday, April 10

*7:00 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Brownwood Police Department regarding theft.

*8:00 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of criminal mischief at a property on S. FM 586 in Bangs. According to the report, the complainant stated that a known suspect had shattered the windshield of her 1966 Ford Mustang the night before.  The complainant further stated that the suspect had damaged her vehicle in anger over a disagreement with another male subject, the report states.

*11:30 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding identity theft.  The complainant stated that someone had fraudulently used his social security number to file their taxes, the report states.  The incident is under investigation, according to police.

12:52 PM – A Brown County sheriff’s deputy received a call regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant told the deputy that on April 2nd, around 6:00 pm, she left her wallet on the bumper of her vehicle after visiting the Dollar General store on Hwy 279. The complainant drove away but realized her mistake and went back 15 minutes later to look for the wallet; however, it was gone, the report states.  On the same day, an unknown person(s) used the complainant’s debit card in Brownwood.

*1:13 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding theft.

*6:31 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Center Avenue. According to the report, the driver of the vehicle was identified as 44-year-old Joe William Stephens of Brownwood.  Consent was given by Stephens to search his person which led to the discovery of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and an assortment of narcotics paraphernalia which was consistent to the distribution of narcotics, the report states.  Stephens was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams.  Stephens was later released on $30,000 bond.

*11:17 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Penn Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  This call led to the arrest of 38-year-old Christopher Michael Knox for assault with injury family violence by strangulation and on Lamar County warrants for assault causes bodily injury family member and interfere with public duties.  Knox was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $53,000 bond as of Monday morning.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was traveling toward Brownwood on Belle Plain when he observed a motorcycle traveling outbound at the speed of 72 mph in a 45 mph zone.   According to the report, the deputy turned around and initiated a traffic stop; however, the driver of the motorcycle refused to stop and fled the scene by speeding north on Hwy 279 at top speeds of 133. The driver, later identified as 31-year-old Cory McCorkle, led the deputy on a chase and was able to evade the officer, eventually leaving the motorcycle in a wooded area off of Woodman Lane, the report states.   The motorcycle was located by another deputy assisting in the search and contact was made with the owner of the vehicle who advised the deputy that he had allowed McCorkle to borrow the motorcycle to go see his daughter, according to the report.  The vehicle was released to the owner, and McCorkle was not located that night, the report states.  BCSO received information the next day around 1:30 PM regarding a male subject (who fit the description from the pursuit) that was walking down FM 3021, the report states.  Upon the deputy’s arrival, he was advised by a citizen that McCorkle was hiding behind a residence at 7201 FM 3021, the report states.  McCorkle was found in the 4300 block of FM 3021 and taken into custody.  After being brought to the jail, McCorkle waived his rights by signing a Waiver of Rights form and gave the deputy a full confession about evading from a deputy the previous day, the report states.  McCorkle was advised that his cooperation would be noted, and he was then escorted back into the jail.

*29-year-old Lorenzo Hale Banks of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to assault causes bodily injury family violence.

*38-year-old Raymundo M. Bustamante of Rising Star turned himself in on a warrant related to accident involving damage to vehicle less than $200.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old Dannie Ortiz Daniels of Dallas on a warrant related to failure to appear-forgery.  Daniels was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $15,000.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old James Leroy Hansford of Arlington for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Early Police arrested 20-year-old Austin Shane Tanner Parker of Clyde on a Brown County warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500 and a Taylor County warrant for theft.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Joey Rainbolt of Cleburne on a Hill County warrant related to motion to adjudicate/criminal neglect child/elderly/disabled.

*Early Police arrested 46-year-old Jesse Ray Stewart of Brownwood for tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, and driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

*Brown County Sheriff’s office arrested 54-year-old Debra Jo Herndon Thomas on warrants for surety withdrawals related to theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500 and possession of a controlled substance.

Saturday, April 11

*1:43 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Avenue D regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that another female has assaulted her.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*2:54 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 600 block of N. Center Avenue after the officer observed the vehicle swerving from side to side as it traveled east on Melwood Street.  According to the report, the vehicle also made a stop past a visible white stop line at the intersection of West Mayes and North Main Street and a traffic stop was initiated in the parking lot of Hastings.  As a result of this stop, the driver, identified as 48-year-old Kevin Loyd Gibbs of Brownwood, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

*11:43 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 500 block of W. Commerce.  This call led to the arrest of 32-year-old Antonio Zapata of Brownwood for the offense of driving while license invalid with previous conviction/suspension/without financial responsibility.

*3:14 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Clements Street.  According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of 39-Year-old Daniel Luis Hernandez of Brownwood for driving while license invalid with previous conviction/suspension/without financial responsibility.

*3:45 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of N. Main Street regarding the theft of a purse.

*4:36 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of harassment in the 3500 block of Rhodes Road.

*6:19 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding theft.  According to the report, employees of the store had a female, identified as 34-year-old Ashley Willis of Gatesville detained.  Willis was arrested for theft greater than $50 less than $500.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s office arrested 31-year-old Andrea Renae Mendoza of Brownwood for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.

*Brownwood Police arrested 32-year-old Frank William Brummett of Brookesmith on a warrant related to purchase furnish alcohol to a minor.

*Early Police arrested 27-year-old William Brayden Daniel of Abilene for resisting arrest search or transport.

*Early Police arrested 28-year-old Mitchell Douglas Davidson of Brownwood for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone, driving while license invalid with previous conviction, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*Brownwood Police arrested 23-year-old Julie Jeanette Alvarado May of Brownwood on warrants related to two counts of failure to maintain financial responsibility, expired registration, expired motor vehicle inspection, failure to appear and failure to appear/theft of property greater than $50 less than $500.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 17-year-old Chevelle Karen Wester of Early for failure to identify.

Sunday, April 12

*1:18 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance.  An investigation led to the arrest of 31-year-old Joe Angel Tijerina of Brownwood for assault causing bodily injury family violence.

*6:24 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Avenue L regarding a vehicle which had been sitting and running at the intersection of 12th Street and Avenue L.  According to the report, officers arrived to find the driver, identified as 24-year-old Rafael Mendoza of Brownwood, asleep behind the wheel with the truck in park.  After a brief investigation, Mendoza was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

*10:56 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the 2000 block of County Road 339 in Early, regarding a citizens’ dispute.  According to the report, two male subjects had showed up at the residence and attempted to repossess a motorcycle. The property owner advised the deputy she wanted a criminal trespass warning issued for the two subjects, so they could not come back to the residence.

* 12:30 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the 8200 block of Hwy 279 regarding a burglary. According to the report, the complainant advised that sometime between the dates of April 6th and April 12th, an unknown suspect(s) cut the lock off of his garage and had stolen numerous hand tools and a radio with speakers. The complainant also said an antique clock was taken causing some damage to the unlocked house, the report states.

*1:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Avenue E regarding an attempted burglary.  According to the report, a possible suspect was named.

*2:02 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Belle Plain regarding theft of property.

*6:31 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s office arrested 37-year-old Bobby Morgan Wallace of Brownwood for with driving while license invalid without proof of financial responsibility.

*9:00 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on Park Road 15 regarding a report of stalking. According to the report, the female complainant stated that she had previously called to report her ex-boyfriend calling her, sending nude pictures via text messages, and contacting her by e-mail.  A BCSO deputy made contact with the subject advising him to stop contact with the complainant and she did not hear anything from him for two weeks; however, at approximately 8:00 p.m. on this date, she went to her vehicle and found a letter from the suspect on her windshield, the report states.  The letter stated that the subject wanted her to follow other letters he had placed in the state park, according to the report. The complainant stated that she told her father about the incident and called the Sheriff’s Office regarding, the report states.

*9:54 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of San Benito Drive regarding the odor of marijuana coming from a residence.  According to the report, a male identified as 34-year-old Cody Jacque Fuller of Brownwood answered the door.  Officers explained they were called due to a smell of marijuana coming from the residence and asked if he had been smoking marijuana, the report states.  Fuller stated that he did not and denied their request to enter the home; however, he said that the officers could “stick their heads inside the house to smell that he had not been smoking marijuana,” the report states.  Officers could see a subject sitting inside the home on a couch and when they shined their flashlights inside the room, a silver tray could be seen sticking out from underneath the couch, and rolling papers could be seen on the coffee table along with other items the officer recognized to be consistent with narcotics use, the report states.   Officers then entered the house to retrieve the tray which contained a small marijuana grinder, four smoking devices used to smoke marijuana and a package of rolling papers along with a usable amount of marijuana, according to police.  Fuller claimed ownership of the marijuana and was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, the report states.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy observed a white Chevy truck fail to stop at the intersection of Beaver and Commerce and a traffic stop was initiated.  According to the report, the deputy noted three beer cans being thrown out of the vehicle’s passenger side window.  The vehicle came to a stop in the Fat T’s parking lot.  Contact was made with the driver, identified as 23-year-old Arthur Villareal of Brownwood, and the deputy could smell a strong odor of consumed alcohol coming from Villareal’s breath, the report states.  Villareal did provide a breath sample and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, the report states.

*A Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden arrested 26-year-old Nicolas Ray Delgado, Jr. of Brownwood for public intoxication.

*Brownwood Police arrested 31-year-old Kendrick Escamilla of Brownwood on a Ward County warrant related to reckless driving.

*Brown County sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Alexander Villarreal of Brownwood for public intoxication.
