Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, April 13, 2012.

Monday, April 9

*Brownwood Police met with an employee of a local doctor’s office who requested the BPD take possession of a bag of medication which contained various prescriptions and over the counter medications for destruction.  None of the items were controlled substance.  The medication was inventoried and placed into the evidence room for destruction.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a caller that she had received a check in the amount of $2890.68 along with a three page email entitled, “mystery shopper/evaluator” first payment assignment package.  According to the report, the email instructed her to confirm receipt of the package, deposit the check within 24 hours and deduct a 10% commission fee.  Additional instructions were related to evaluating two different Western Union Outlet Stores as a mystery shopper, the report states.  The complainant turned over the check along with the three page email at the time of the report and did not take any of the above actions, according to the report.

Wednesday, April 11

*11:23pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on Patricia Lane in Brownwood regarding a pickup which had parked in front of the home and attempted to sell methamphetamine to the complainant.  According to the report, the complainant wished to have trespass warnings issued to the driver as well as three other people who were with him.

*4:45pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Avenue C regarding theft.  According to the report, two bicycles were stolen from the back yard of the complainant’s residence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding some threatening text messages the complainant had received from a third party.  According to the report, the messages did not pose an immediate threat to the complainant but he did wish to issue the sender of the texts a criminal trespass warning.  The deputy was able to locate the suspect who lives in Junction, Texas and when he advised the man that he should not come to Brown County to cause any problems he might risk going to jail, the man told the deputy he was not afraid to get arrested and if he wanted to come to Brownwood looking for the complainant, he would.

Thursday, April 12

*6:16am-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, a male subject had left the business without paying for $71.46 of fuel.  While en route, dispatch advised that Early Police Department had located and stopped the vehicle on US Hwy 183S, the driver, 35-year-old Michael Correy Brown was placed under arrest for Theft $50-$500.

*10:07am-Brownwood Police met with an employee of the BRMC pharmacy to pick up some abandoned medication and medication from deceased patients.  He turned over forty syringes and four bottles of prescriptions medication for destruction.  The medication was counted, packaged and placed into evidence for destruction.

*10:56am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Austin Avenue regarding forgery.  According to the report, the manager stated that a male and female had cashed fraudulent money orders on March 30 at the business.  Suspects have been identified; however, no arrests have been made at this time.

*12:57pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of US Hwy 377S regarding harassment.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-husband had been following and harassing her.

*3:41pm-Brownwood Police Department were called to the 1700 block of Avenue B regarding a fight in progress.  The officer spoke with both subjects involved in the altercation and at the time neither party wanted to pursue charges; however, the officer was later contacted by one of the male subjects who now wishes to pursue charges due to some major injuries to his face.

*7:27pm-Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence regarding a disturbance between family members.  According to the report, several witnesses along with the 73-year-old victim stated that he had been in an argument with his son, 49-year-old Mike C Perez of Bangs, and that Perez had grabbed the victim by his shirt collar and dragged him to the ground causing the victim to sustain a cut arm, reports state.  Perez stated that he had grabbed the victim because the victim had thrown three punches at him and one connected, according to the report.  Perez was arrested for Injury to Elderly with Intentional Bodily Injury.

*7:53pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Golding Road to talk to a complainant who stated she had been assaulted at a residence in the 1600 block of Wood Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant went to pick up her child from the child’s fathers and was assaulted.  The complainant stated that she was punched and struck with a baseball bat by the child’s father, the report states.  The incident is under investigation.

*10:35pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1400 block of 1st Street.  According to the report, the driver, identified as 61-year-old Juan Garza, was found to be intoxicated and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  Garza submitted to a blood specimen and was taken to the Brown County Jail.

*11:16pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue, 7-11 convenience store, regarding the theft of a cell phone.  According to the report, surveillance video showed that the complainant left her cell phone on the counter and then left the store.  It also showed a suspect put it into his pocket.  Although the suspect has not been identified at the time of the report, the video will be picked up at a later time for evidence.

*Officer Brandon McMillain of the Early Police Department stopped a green 1997 Cadillac at Early Blvd and Live Oak for speeding, according to Chief David Mercer. While interviewing the driver, Officer McMillian noted that the drivers speech was slurred and his actions were sluggish. Officer McMillian performed standard field sobriety test on the driver and placed him under arrest after the driver failed the test, according to Mercer. A blood test was taken and James Bryan Schlegelmilch of Brownwood was arrested for DWI.

Friday, April 13

*1:45pm-Brownwood Police were called to a citizen’s dispute in the 1200 block of 1st Street.   According to the report, the calling party indicated that the driver of a white pickup was parked in front of a house and armed with a handgun.  The white pickup was located leaving the scene and stopped by police in a private driveway in the 1400 block of 1st Street, the report states.  Officers ordered the driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Lonny Eugene Robbins, out of the vehicle and a search of the vehicle did not yield a handgun; however Robbins was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated after performing poorly on standard field sobriety tests, reports state.

*Early Police Department arrested 41-year-old Daryle Eugene Dumas of Early for Driving While License Invalid.

*Early Police Department arrested 44-year-old Rudolfo Reyna for Public Intoxication with 3 Prior Convictions and Criminal Trespass.
