On Tuesday, March 8, Bangs Police were contacted to assist Early Police with the investigation of a theft at a laundry mat.  It was believed a suspect vehicle was headed toward Bangs on Hwy 84/67.

According to Bangs Police Sgt. David Dulaney, officers were waiting for the suspect vehicle along the side of the highway and upon verification of the suspect vehicle, a traffic stop was initiated.  When approaching the vehicle, Sgt. Dulaney saw a passenger was moving around in the back seat.  The occupants were instructed to put their hands up and stop moving.  When looking into the car, officers saw pills lying in the floorboard of the car according to police.

Sgt. Dulaney reported that the suspect, 26-year-old Robin Gene Brady, claimed that she had a prescription but when no such prescription could be provided, she admitted that she got the pills “wherever she could get them.”  The report states that she was self medicating because she could not afford to go to the doctor.  According to police officials, the pills were believed to be Hydrocodone and Xanax.  Upon searching the vehicle, an Altoids box was found to be full of the pills and a few more were scattered in Brady’s purse according to police.

Bangs PD arrested Brady on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Grade 1, equal or greater than 1g and less than 4g; Possession of Marijuana, less than 2oz; and Theft of Property equal or greater than $50 and less than $500.  Early Police are investigating the theft from the laundry mat, which was reported to be of clothing items.
