Friday night, Early Police officers were called to the 100 block of Early Blvd regarding a bar fight around 11:30pm which led to the arrest of two Brownwood women.

According to Early Police Chief David Mercer, EPD officers arrived and were able to intervene in the ongoing disturbance and placed the two females into custody.  The two women, identified as 19-year-old Alicia Gil Bates and 27-year-old Stephanie Franklin Mejia, were reported to have been continually aggressive toward bar employees.  After an investigation, officers determined there were four victims assaulted by Bates and Mejia, according to Mercer.

Alicia Bates was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, Assault with Injury and Fail to Indentify (for giving false information when identifying to the officers) and Criminal Trespass.  Bates was being held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of $5000 bond as of Monday morning.

Stephanie Mejia was also arrested and charged with 3 counts of Assault with Injury, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Trespass and Public Intoxication.  Mejia was also being held at the Brown County Jail on $9000 bond as of Monday morning.

Friday, March 2

*11:54am-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown suspect had damaged his vehicle in the Whataburger parking lot this morning and left without providing any of their information.

*12:49pm-Brownwood Police responded to the report of a subject attempting to cash counterfeit money orders at Ace America’s Cash Express.  According to the report, the officer met with both the store employee and the customer who stated she had received the money orders through the mail for payment of a pool table she had sold on Craig’s list.

*1:35pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had struck his vehicle sometime between Tuesday, February 28th at 8:00pm and Friday, March 2nd at 12:00pm.  There was no suspect information at the time of the report.

*2:30pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding an assault.  According to the report, the victim stated that a named suspect had pushed her down which caused her pain.  She stated that an argument over money was the reason for the assault, the report states.  Authorities indicate that contact was made with the victim’s mother who did wish to pursue criminal charges against the man.  According to the suspect, the victim was pushed to the floor but that he and several others, including the victim, were “horsing around” and that the push was not done as a malicious act.  At the time of the report, the officer noted the only visible injury to the victim was a small bruise on her left elbow.

*3:28pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding a domestic disturbance between a juvenile and an adult.

*5:20pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, the loss prevention employee reported a known suspect, 33-year-old Angelina Sophronia Burks, was caught attempting to steal merchandise from the store.  Burks was arrested for Theft Less than $1500 with two previous convictions.

*5:41pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Avenue A regarding a burglary.  According to the report, the complainant reported that sometime during the night, an unknown person had entered the residence, turned on the front porch light and then left.  There were no signs of forced entry and no property was stolen from the residence, the report states.

*Brownwood Police arrested 41-year-old Roy Don Andrews of Brownwood for DWI 3rd or more.

*Brownwood Police arrested 46-year-old Carolyn Sue May of Brownwood for Driving While License Invalid.

Saturday, March 3

*12:44am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Commerce, Skillets restaurant, regarding a vehicle that was parked at the location and appeared to have been in an accident.  A BCSO deputy was out with the vehicle and was requesting Brownwood PD assistance.  This call led to the arrest of the driver, identified as Jerry Wayne Baird, for Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Comply with Requirements on Striking Fixtures.

*5:06am-Brownwood Police responded to the intersection of Avenue J and Vincent Street regarding a found bicycle.  According to the report, the bicycle was not stolen and was placed into the BPD impound until it can be properly identified and claimed by its owner.

*9:12am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Vincent Street regarding found property.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had abandoned a bicycle on her property sometime during the previous night.

*10:46am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Main Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated she was four months pregnant and that that her husband had assaulted her at their residence, hitting her in the abdomen.  The complainant was transported to the BRMC emergency room for observation, the report states.  Although the complainant did not wish to pursue criminal charges, the State of Texas will pursue criminal charges against the suspect.  There were no visible signs of injury on the complainant at the time of the report.

*2:53pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was on patrol when he made a traffic stop.  When the deputy made contact with the driver, identified as 33-year-old Michael Shane Rohachek, he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to the report.  When asked about the marijuana,  Rohacek admitted that he had a “dug out” (wooden box containing a pipe and marijuana) on his person.  During a probable cause search, the deputy located a cigarette box containing a baggie of marijuana in the vehicle, according to the report.  Rohacek was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

*6:01pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Dartmore regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she was assaulted by her daughter; however, she did not wish to pursue criminal charges against her daughter.

*6:41pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Booker Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated he allowed a man to stay with him for the past few days and when the man moved out of the house this morning, he stole some items.  The complainant stated that he did not know where the male might have moved, the report states.

*6:54pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 800 block of 1st Street regarding a vehicle that had been stolen sometime during the first week of February.  According to the report, the complainant stated her husband’s grandson had taken her vehicle without her permission and had not returned it.  The complainant stated that she wanted to report the vehicle as stolen and pursue criminal charges against the suspect.

Sunday, March 4

*12:24am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of Morris Shepherd Drive, Gate 1 Apartments, regarding a door that appeared to have been kicked in.  No suspects were listed in the report; however an active investigation is underway.

*1:10am-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 200 block of S. Broadway.  According to the report, the driver, identified as 22-year-old Jolene French, was found to be intoxicated.  After failing several field sobriety tests, French was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, the report states.

*10:23am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Joshua Wayne McDaniel after he assaulted his common law wife during an argument, according to police reports.  McDaniel was charged with Assault with Injury Family Violence.

*11:30am-Brownwood Police responded to the 400 block of Main Street regarding harassment.  According to the report, the elements of harassment were not met; however the complainant reported that approximately 1 week ago, some tools were stolen from her van and pawned by her son’s ex-roommate.

*12:41pm-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an ex-roommate/ex-friend, had stolen her birth certificate and social security card when he moved out of the residence where they had both been living.  The complainant became more specific and stated that the stolen items were in his vehicle that he used to transport his belongings from the house, and that he did not return them from the vehicle.

*1:28pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend took a belt buckle that belonged to her deceased father and that he refuses to return the buckle.  The buckle is estimated to be valued at $2500, the report states.

*2:07pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, employees had a suspect detained for theft.  The suspect was issued a citation for theft less than $50, issued a criminal trespass warning and released.

*5:25pm-Brownwood Police dispatched to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 26-year-old Darlene Frias for Theft Equal or Greater than $50 Less than $500.

*6:15pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she and her now ex-fiancée, identified as Brandon Breedlove, had been arguing about their relationship when she pushed him and he pushed her back, into her vehicle causing her to hurt her back. She also reported that he kicked the driver’s side door of the vehicle as she was trying to leave the residence.  Breedlove was arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence.

*9:28pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 2nd Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, after an investigation, 23-year-old Monica Smith was placed under arrest for Criminal Trespass.

*10:00pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jesse James Kilgore for Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Unlawful Restraint.  According to the report, Kilgore kept his common law wife from leaving the house and then pushed her down.  An emergency protective order was also filed on the victim’s behalf.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen pickup truck.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his truck was parked on the street at approximately 9:00pm when he went to sleep but when he woke around 11:45pm, the pickup was gone.  The complainant stated that he has keys to the truck but that the ignition can be operated without them, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a reported burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between February 26th and March 4th, someone stole $1,100 worth of items from his residence in Bangs.   Approximately $300 worth of damage was caused to the residence and the complainant does wish to file charges if a suspect can be identified, the report states.

*Texas DPS arrested 41-year-old Robert Shane McClain of Blanket for DWI 3rd or More.

*Brownwood Police arrested 23-year-old Monica Nicole Smith of Brownwood for criminal trespass.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
