PesinaEnriqueBrown County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Ramirez made a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding Sunday around 10:30 AM which resulted in the arrest of a Brownwood man on drug charges and Child Protective Services being called.

Ramirez had noticed a passenger vehicle driving south on US Hwy 183 in May, Texas which was traveling above the posted speed limit of 40 mph, according to the deputy’s report.  The driver, identified as 27-year-old Enrique Jose Pesina, advised the deputy that he did not have a driver’s license and acted very nervous, the report states.  The deputy asked Pesina if he had anything illegal in the vehicle and he admitted and surrendered 1.8 grams of methamphetamine which was in his wallet, according to the report.

A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and digital scales were found.  Pesina was arrested, charged with manufacture delivery of controlled substance penalty group 1.  As the deputy drove off, another deputy noticed a black cloth bag on the ground where the deputy’s patrol car had been parked, the report states. This would have been near the passenger side of the patrol car and an area that the suspect had access to as he was placing a child passenger into the patrol car, according to the report.  The black bag was found to contain and additional 25.6 grams of methamphetamine, the report states.

Once at the Brown County Law Enforcement Center, the deputy met with Pesina’s wife and the child was released to her custody.

Due to the child being a passenger of the vehicle during Pesina’s arrest and the evidence found during the investigation, Child Protective Services was contacted and informed of the incident, the report states.

Friday, March 28

*9:20 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of 5th Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that unknown a suspect(s) broke into the residence the previous night, taking several tools.

*12:28 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Main Street regarding harassment via text messages.  Criminal charges are being pursued according to the report.

*1:41 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, employees stated that three males, later identified as 24-year-old Cody Harrell of May, 21-year-old Amador Mercado of Baird, and 20-year-old Payton Lee of Rising Star, were observed removing store merchandise from the packages and concealing the items in their clothing.  All three suspects were detained and an investigation was conducted, the report states.  Wal-Mart management did wish to pursue criminal charges against the suspects, according to the report.  The stolen and recovered merchandise was valued at $66.95.  Harrell, Mercado and Lee were each charged with Engaging in organized criminal activity and issued criminal trespass warnings for Wal-Mart. Mercado was additionally charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*4:03 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3500 block of Milam Drive regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known suspect had assaulted him and a report was filed at the complainant’s request.

*5:34 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of 6th Street regarding the violation of an emergency protective order.  According to the report, after an investigation it was determined that 46-year-old Jesus Sierra Linan of Brownwood violated the order.  He was located in the 800 block of Hendricks and arrested for the violation, the report states.

*6:44 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Vine Street regarding a reckless driver.   According to the report, the complainant stated that his vehicle was dented and the paint damaged as the suspect vehicle “peeled out” in an alleyway, throwing gravel onto the complainant’s vehicle.  An investigation is ongoing.

*6:48 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that about three weeks ago he had left a portable radio at McDonald’s and that when he returned about 30 minutes later, the radio was gone.

*11:36 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce, Buffalo Wild Wings, regarding theft.  According to the report, the male suspect did not pay for five alcoholic beverages valued at approximately $30, which were consumed while he was at the business.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 24-year-old Ronnie Pena of Comanche on warrants related to surety withdrawals for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 24-year-old Seaver Ray Roper, Jr. on a warrant related to motion to revoke/burglary of a vehicle.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Cecil Jermaine Russell of Mobile, Alabama on a Grayson County warrant for failure to appear/abandon endanger child

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 52-year-old Jimi Dee Simmons of Brookesmith on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

Saturday, March 29

*11:45 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Cordell Street regarding terroristic threat.  According to the report, the complainant advised that he was threatened with bodily injury by another family member due to his sexual orientation.

*1:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding drugs/narcotics.  According to the report, a Wal-Mart employee had witnessed known suspect 45-year-old Chad William Beasley “huffing” (inhaling) on an air duster can in the Wal-Mart parking lot.  After locating the suspect in the immediate area and after an investigation was completed, Beasley was arrested for public intoxication, the report states.

*5:47 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Irma Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the male victim had been assaulted by his roommate and cousin.  At the time of the report, no arrest had been made; however an active criminal case has been filed, the report states.

*6:21 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Austin Avenue regarding terroristic threat.  According to the report, during a child exchange, a verbal disturbance and dispute broke out in the parking lot of CVS, which resulted in one party making threatening comments.  The victim and suspect were identified.

*6:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Clements Street regarding theft.  According to the report, an unknown suspect had stolen a black iPad.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*32-year-old Thomas Jason Edmondson of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/possession of marijuana.

Sunday, March 30

*1:00 AM – Early Police Officer Jose Contreras stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Garmon Drive for speeding.  According to the report, as Officer Contreras approached the vehicle he could smell a very strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.  After identifying the driver and questioning him about the smell, the driver admitted he had marijuana in the trunk, the report states.  Officer Contreras then searched the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia, 15 bottles containing marijuana buds, 6 large bottles containing marijuana candy, 2 plastic baggies containing marijuana candy, according to the report.  The driver, identified as 39-year-old William Tracy Harrington of Austin, stated he was traveling from Colorado to Austin, the report states.  Harrington was placed under arrest, charged with possession of marijuana equal or greater than 4 ounces less than or equal to 5 pounds and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Harrington was released later that day on bonds totaling $8000.

*2:10 AM – Brownwood police made a traffic stop in the area of Austin and Brady Avenues.  According to the report, this stop led to a citation being issued to the male driver for possession of drug paraphernalia.

*10:34 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the scene of a three vehicle accident at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Avenue K.  According to the report, two vehicles were stopped at a red light in the right northbound lane of the 1900 block of Austin Avenue when a third vehicle failed to control its speed and struck one vehicle, causing it to strike the vehicle in front of it.  The driver of the at-fault vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Jeffrey Taylor of Brownwood, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to the police report.  He was taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood sample.

*1:52 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a child’s outcry about a sexual assault.  After speaking with the complainant, a report for aggravated sexual assault child was completed.  The alleged incident is under investigation.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 28-year-old Natasha Forman of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated blood alcohol level equal or greater than 0.15.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old James Gregory of Brownwood on a Coryell County warrant related to failure to appear/driving while license invalid/no insurance.
