Monday, February 28

*10:04am-A Brownwood Police officer responded to 2001 Slayden, Brownwood High School, to speak with a complainant regarding her son’s stolen cell phone.  After the initial call on Tuesday, March 1st, the complainant was able to provide phone records and the serial number in order for the phone to be able to be listed as stolen in the TCIC/NCIC databases the report states.  The investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, March 1

*7:45am-Brownwood Police responded to the 2700 block of Red Fox Trail regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant advised the officer that he is a real estate developer and that the house he is having built in the 2700 block on Red Trail was vandalized sometime overnight.  An unknown actor had turned on a water hydrant which resulted in the interior of the house being flooded the report states.  At the time of the report, no suspect information was known and the incident is under investigation.

*10:52am-A wallet was turned into dispatch at the Law Enforcement Center.  The owner was located and the wallet was returned the report states.

*2:00pm-A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of 6th Street regarding a found pistol.  The officer spoke with the complainant who had located the pistol, cleared and secured the item the report states.  A check of the TCIC/NCIC database did not have the pistol listed as stolen.  The pistol was then packaged and sent to BPD as evidence.

Wednesday, March 2

*8:43am-A complainant came to the Brownwood Police Department to report ID theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her identification was used to lease a credit/debit card reader.

*11:40am-Brownwood Police received a complaint from a woman who stated she was the potential victim of a scam and wanted to report it.  According to the report, the woman stated that someone had contacted her regarding an ad she had placed in the Thrifty Nickel and attempted to get her to cash two separate checks.  Upon cashing them, the complainant was supposed to send the excess money to another address in a different state the report states.

*12:27pm-A Brownwood officer was called to the 600 block of Melwood Street regarding a theft.  A report was made for theft more than $50 and less than $500.

*1:49pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Woodridge regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that known suspects had stolen a refrigerator and grill from her rent house on LaMonte Street.

*4:22pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the intersection of 8th and Center Avenue regarding found property.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he found a wallet by the roadway.  The wallet was taken to BPD where it was placed into evidence as found property for safe keeping.

*6:03pm-Brownwood Police were called to Alpine Court regarding a burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had entered the attached garage of his residence and stole a BMX bicycle valued at $300.

*7:08pm-Brownwood Police were called to Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding theft.  The complainants stated that they had personal items stolen from their purses while they were at work.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*9:14pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1000 block of Austin Avenue, Academy Lanes, regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle was damaged on the back left quarter panel.  The damage was estimated to be approximately $500.  The suspect vehicle was described as a “jacked up dark colored pickup” the report states.  No suspect was known at the time of the report.

*10:30pm-Brownwood Police conducted a pedestrian stop in the 1200 block of 3rd Street.  According to the report, the stop was made due to the officer observing a male walking northbound on 3rd Street on the wrong side of the road.  During the stop, the male was found to be in possession of a marijuana pipe and issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia before being released to his guardian.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 27-year-old Reba Buffington for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
