Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday & Thursday, March 28 & 29, 2012.
Saturday, March 24
*9:42pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Avenue B regarding a juvenile problem. According to the report, the complainant stated that his 16-year-old foster son had pushed him. The juvenile was placed in custody for Assault Offensive Threat or Touch-Family Member.
Sunday, March 25
*9:46am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft at a residence in Bangs. According to the report, two tool boxes were stolen from the complainant’s garage.
Monday, March 26
*6:13am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Avenue H regarding the burglary of a vehicle which had just occurred. According to the report, items taken included two debit cards, a child support card, $1700 in cash, a black overnight bag containing makeup, a cell phone, and a check written to the complainant for $800. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*9:31am-Brownwood Police spoke to the communications advisor regarding silent or abusive 911 calls that occurred in the early morning hours of March 25th. According to the report, the caller repeatedly called 911 for a non-emergency situation and used vulgar and derogatory language to the dispatchers that answered the 911 calls.
*4:23pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a civil dispute involving property lines. According to the report, the parties were advised to seek a judge’s opinion regarding ownership of the property in question. After the parties were separated, one of the parties contacted the police department the following morning to advise that the other party had stolen a large amount of metal and tin valued at approximately $5000.
*6:22pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle was struck from behind by a beige passenger car which fled the scene. The complainant was uninjured; however, her vehicle sustained minor damage as a result of the accident, the report states.
Tuesday, March 27
*10:22am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Avenue D. The report states that two males were identified after they had allegedly tried to run the complainant off the road.
*1:56pm-Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, 20-year-old Charles Devlyn Dyess of Abilene was arrested for Theft Less than $50 with Prior Convictions, Criminal Trespass and for an outstanding Brown County warrant. Upon arrival at the jail, marijuana was found tucked beneath the seat padding where Dyess had been sitting while being transported, reports state. Dyess was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz and Tampering/Fabricating Physical Evidence.
*1:59pm-Brownwood Police went to a residence in the 1500 block of Main Blvd to serve several felony warrants on a known felon, 23-year-old Christopher Cody McDonough. This call led to the arrest of 35-year-old Angela Marie Phillips Lovett for Hinder Apprehension/Prosecution of Known Felon.
*2:06pm-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding identity theft. According to the report, the complainant reported that his debit card was used to buy items on Amazon.com. The complainant stated that he allowed a named subject to use his debit card one time and that the card has been used 24 times since then and he did not authorize its use.
*4:46pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 4100 block of Glenwood Drive regarding credit/debit card abuse. According to the report, the complainant stated that her credit card company called her regarding unusual charges on the card. The complainant stated that she did not make the charges and suspects that an acquaintance has stolen the card and has been using it at various locations.
*4:58pm-Brownwood Police responded to a disturbance in the 1600 block of Broadmoor Drive. This call led to the arrest of a 13-year-old male for Assault with Injury Family Violence.
*6:53pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Durham Avenue regarding a dog bite. According to the report, the complainant stated that a German Sheppard dog had bit her on the leg approximately one hour before she reported the incident. The report states that she wasn’t concerned about the bite until she thought that the dog might bite someone else, possibly a child. The dog’s owner was contacted and stated that she saw the dog run at the complainant but had not realized a bite had occurred. The dog was reported to be up to date on shots and approximately one year old.
*10:03pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of 4th Street regarding a hit and run. According to the report, another vehicle hit the complainant’s vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot and then fled the scene. A few minutes later, the suspect driver returned and stated that she did not realize that she had struck the other vehicle. The complainant declined to press criminal charges at the time of the report.
*10:07pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Avenue I regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that her son’s bicycle was stolen from her front yard between 3:00pm and 10:00pm this date.
*Bangs Police Department arrested 25-year-old Lee Fred Petty for Racing on Highway.
Wednesday, March 28
*6:09pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of Main Street regarding an assault. Investigation led to citations being issued to two females for Disorderly Conduct, the report states.
*7:45pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3200 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding a reckless driver. According to the report, the suspect, an acquaintance of the victim, attempted to run her over with his vehicle. There were several witnesses to the incident and the suspect information is known; however, the suspect was not located at the scene, the report states. The victim was not injured according to police and an investigation is ongoing.
*11:34pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding the theft of a cell phone. According to the report, the complainant stated that a customer walked behind the counter while arguing with another clerk and stole her cell phone from its charger. Limited information was available on the female subject and the investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. According to the report, 29-year-old James Curtis Tompkins, II of Waco was arrested for Driving while License Invalid.
Thursday, March 29
*1:49am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of 4th Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, no offense had occurred; however an intoxicated female, identified as 25-year-old Tabitha Carrier, was refusing to leave. A ride was called for the female but when the ride arrived, Carrier refused to get inside the vehicle and dropped to the ground and began rolling around in the roadway, the report states. Carrier was arrested for Public Intoxication.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
